Several people here have websites that generate a large amount of money. Do you have an emergency plan in case something would happen to you?

Does someone have a list of your login information and/or other stuff to keep your sites running if something were to happen to you?

I for one would be willing to be repsonsible for that information. If you are making over $50k/mo I would be willing to take on that role for you. ;)

This really is like offline stuff, make sure whoever you choose has your bank acct info, get your will in place, stuff like that

I only wish I was making that amount of money. The amount I am making doesn't even require a significant emergency plan.

Ditto. I wish I had enough money to have to worry about.

Once I get up and running my wife will have all of that sort of info. The trick is to make sure I never make more than her so she can't run off...

I was having a conversation with my wife this weekend about all this sort of stuff.
Most of us have a will (well some of us) but do you put all your online info in that will?

I know I havent..

So I am starting to write out all the log ins, passwords and even backing up all my sites to a couple of DVD's , one is being kept here and one will be put somewhere else.. maybe a bank?

Sounds extreme i know, but we never know what the future holds...

Cheerful 1st post there from me...

:D

I don't make much, but I just put everythin i can in the bank, so if it does all crash i'll still have a small fortune :P
and i got multiple un-related sites so it doesn't just break.

A small fortune? How much do you make?

A file with passwords, regular routines, lists of sites, domain registrars ets even is very important to have, just incase somethign bad happens (say you get laid up in hospital, and you missed a domain renewal for example).

If it is all in one place it is easy to say to someone go and do that (please)

Where do you store the file though? On a CD-r, on your computer, etc.?

To be honest I print it out, on the basis that the person who may be using it may not be computer savvy. I dont want them to fall at the first fence of finding the thing.

At least if they have the info they could get the rest sorted by a 3rd party

I think it is a good idea to have it all written down and is something I have been thinking about recently. I think I will save some stuff on a CD-R and maybe a few pieces of paper etc and keep them in a safe ;)
