I have a review site up right now that I registered when I first started doing AM (all of two weeks ago). It's actually getting decent traffic - I need to keep tweaking it a bit.

However, I just found out that putting trademark names in domains is a problem (legally). Damn....

So, my question is simple. Let's say there's a manufacturer of stuff everyone has heard of like General Motors. Is putting up a site named "GeneralMotorsReviews.com" a no-no? Or is that within the fair-use policy of trademarks?

Here's a good page:
Trademark and Domain Name Basics

If you become big, you'll probably get a Cease and Desist at some point. I wouldn't plan on this site being around forever.

If you're profiting off of someone else's good name, and have any chance of tarnishing that name or just making money because of it, they will have a case. I doubt they'd take you to court (but they could), they'd most likely tell you to take the site down immediately or pay the consequences.

I know too many lawyers....

I know the feeling. I have two lawyers for offline biz. I haven't told them about any of this stuff yet. Might be time...

Or I could just take the site down. It's not making me any money anyway.
