Hello, I'm new here. A friend told me this might be a good forum to sell my domain name "SOLD.NET" on. At this point I don't have a set price in mind and I'd like to see what kind of offers I could get for this great domain. I have been told that the domain name is worth over 40k, and while I am not committed to this price, it should give you some idea what I expect from it. With that said, if anyone is interested in this feel free to pm me or reply here with any offers or questions you may have.

...if the .org is good enough for jon, .net is good enough for me. Do you want me to paypal the $20 now or later?

If you haven't already done so, you'll probably want to list it on Sedo and Afternic

You can also check out NameBio to get an idea of what other .net domains have sold for recently.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for $40k, but you may get luck and find just the right buyer

search in google for international domain name forums or similar words and you'll find 10 or 15 big domain forums. More to there and sell it.

Alternatively big it to me for $10 and let me make $20k from it :D

Honestly, You should do something to it before you sell it. That domain would fetch a good amount without content.

However with very little effort you could really get a huge amount on it.

I copied this from a quick appriasal site.

Nothing against the OP or you Jason, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to remind everyone that automated online appraisals are a joke of the industry. In fact, even a lot of paid human appraisal services for domains are wildly off of market reseller prices.

I know, Just went there to see what it would say. With some good content though it could sell really well.

Agreed. Judging the value of a domain off of an automated appraisal site like swift appraisals etc is extremely innaccurate. It can say a long, unmemorable domain is worth over $1,000.

And many human appraisal services are run by people who are not experts, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these are run by idiots who just run the domain through a free automated appraisal script.

I agree with AdExhibitJason that you should consider developing the domain. Obviously it's a good name, whether or not it is worth $40k.

There are so many possible ways to use that domain I can't even begin to list them. But I'll begin to list them:
-Auction site (just an idea, not recommended)
-Online shopping search engine
etc....

You could either find yourself making good enough bank to keep it, or sell it after it's been established and add more value to it.

I'd contact Rick Latona (he is the largest individual reseller of domains) and see if he would be interested in selling it to his huge email list. He charges a 10% brokering fee if your name sells.

I would call it the "Sold Network" and trade mark that and also I would try to incorporate under that name. Then with the trade mark and inc name in hand you could shop it to interested parties.

One thing you domain speculators will need to learn for the future is that the trade mark holder can effectively turn a really valuable domain you hold into worthless garbage if he/she beats you to the punch and trade marks the term that is in your supposedly valuable domain before you do.

Someone could register a .info domain and trade mark the term and turn your .com name into garbage. Oh ya there could be a court battle but you would probably lose unless you were actually using the .com domain in a business fashion.

Trade mark law does not allow for "but but but judge I registered this dot come years ago he cant do this to me with a stinking dot info domain".

Now back to the domain in question. I see this domain kind of like ask dot com. There could be so much built on this with sub domains. You could sell anything not just real estate. This is how I would set it up and use it. A site that was setup this way and had lots of pages and was established could sell for considerable more then 40k. People some times lack vision so you have to show them what is possible. Just like youtube. before they did it no one else thought it could work but look at them now. Same goes with this domain. You can say it is worth 40k but without a working site as an example it is hard to get people to do anything but throw you a bunch of low ball offers. Business people are looking for something they can bank on. Show them how they can bank on this domain and make bucks and they will jump on it. Leave it up to them to figure out and you will never get the real money that could be had with a domain like this.

You are a complete idiot. Why are you even giving advice on this? I don't know jack shit about woodworking, glassblowing, or gymnastics but you don't see me on a fucking gymnastics forum mouthing off nonsense about the fucking pommel horse. Just shut the fuck up and stop making domaining posts. This is so fucking retarded you really have no chance of making up for something so stupid, ever.

Jesus fucking Christ. God damnit I can't even respond to this. Normally I respond to this kind of shit so people with half a brain like that nmwando kid can learn something but God fucking damnit you are stupid.
