Does anyone know Nutraceutical Chemists/creators?

I just think that there are plenty of other primary ingredients that you could use as the pillar of your formula (maqui berry, capuacu, dingleberry, etc) that won't immediately be a non-starter with a reputable processor.

I wholeheartedly agree with this point, especially due to the fact that - like you say - legit processors have tightened their reigns considerably. But I still think that if that hurdle can be jumped, there can still be a ton of money made through other mediums. It won't be the "wild west" of 2008, 2009 but its still out there.

Agreed re:2008/2009. I just think that it might be a better idea to focus on the next idea rather than risk blowing your load on product family that might soon be headed for extinction. I probably should have just said that in the first place.
That said, I heard Oprah is about to run a special on the nearly magical effects of the dingleberry on next Wednesdays show....just an fyi.

Oh yeah, I never meant it to come across as that I'd personally make my own Acai blend. There's just too many other things out there that have an infinitely better risk/reward ratio (imo, of course). Hell, one could take a stock creatine blend right this second, slap a label on it, rent the subscriber list to a few muscle/exercise/MMA magazines and profit. It's almost guaranteed. My main point is that so many affiliate marketers have tunnel vision to the point that if a niche is saturated/competitive in Adwords/Facebook/whatever, they automatically say its dead. From your initial post that's kind of how it sounded but since I read a few more of your posts (in this an other threads) I get the gist that you know your shit and that I'm preaching to the choir.

Instead of creating a new thread, maybe I'll ask in here as it seems like there are some knowledgeable guys here.

The one thing I know far more about and am more interested in than affiliate marketing is sport training, specifically MMA/training fighters, etc. It's something I'm genuinely interested in too and have always wanted to do it, and I know a good deal about supplement formulations and used to kinda build my own by buying ingredients in bulk and mixing them. They worked well too.

Anyway, what needs to be in place to start your own supp? I know of a couple companies already that will basically formulate the product (a couple listed in this thread), I can get the landers and all that done well like most here.

Where I am kinda stuck/lost on is the merchant account and support thing. I wouldn't want it to be a scammy rebill.... for the most part it would be a pay per sale product, and I might offer a free trial like Force Factor but I'd prefer to have good customer support and provide refunds where needed/eligible.

I keep hearing that for supps you need these fancy merchant ID systems and such, but no idea where to start for that really. As far as I know, product development, site development, and initial marketing testing could be done fairly cheap with what I know and my resources. For this type of product, would simply going to your bank to get a merchant account suffice? Would you want systems like LimeLight in place? sorry for my "noobness" on the subject.

Any insight on this would be great.... to the OP sorry to hijack your thread.
