I have already signed the Texas petition and I promise you texas could stand on its own with no problems at all.
 
New York as a nation could equate to the country with the highest taxes. Texas might end up spending the most per person on military and prisons. Mississippi could ban Playboy magazine and Marilyn Manson albums, etc.

Depending on viewpoints, each state on its own might end up being "better" than before, but the same old majority rules system would still be in place in each - and under that system you can nearly always be guaranteed that a certain amount of the population will be upset.

I was gonna contradict this with a few facts but instead decided I'd much rather see you try. :D

Unfortunately for my dreams though, it'll never happen. Texas is gonna be the first major conservative stronghold to fall and become a blue state soon enough thanks to the Hispanic population growth.

Funny enough, if Texas did actually succeed in becoming it's own country it would eventually become more like Mexico than the Utopian conservatopia you so foolishly think it will be.

How exactly? Please explain. Are you talking full on neo-nazi white supremacist shit? That would be interesting. Especially considering that you're already outnumbered and they have an entire nation of brothers and sisters across the border that would love to help them. At that point it would be too late to ask the United States to help so... yeah.

Also terms like "hispanic problem" and "illegals" are why you lost, in case you were wondering.
 
This thread makes my head hurt.

Even posturing that the U.S. Government would let any state become it's own independent country is laughable. Especially those which would be strategically negative from outside force invasions standpoint. They can get a million signatures and it still isn't happening.
