I'm curious as to what others are like on here since we're in a profession that is very isolated for most. Some may do that by choice seeing that they hate dealing with coworkers or whatever. But this doesn't just have to do with working in an office. I'm wondering what you think of people you know or have known in the past or you come into contact with every day. What's your overall impression of them and do you think it has anything to do with where you live?

TBH I really hate all the people around me. The first thing that comes to my mind is that they're all losers. I have a retail business as well & it involves dealing with customers, answering all their stupid questions, in other words apply a lot of lube for dollars which you can't stand once you start making decent money with marketing.

I'd love to like people, but...

I like people alot more ever since I moved out of the U.S., but I find that when I'm in the States to visit I don't speak to strangers and generally expect the worse of them and don't like dealing with anyone I don't know. I like to be pleasant and friendly with people but when it is shunned or even derided I get pissed, so now I don't try.

If I meet someone who proves to be genuinely pleasant I am shocked and am quite drawn to them but this is a cold world we live in these days and that is a rare find.

No. I can't help it but people can be stupendously naive and ignorant. At times I can even resent close friends if they say something which I don't like or show typical herd-like behavior. But I have a lot of genuine respect for people with great minds/attitudes/ambitions.

I think a lot of people in marketing may have this attitude - we see through the bullshit and see just how irrational/illogical people can be.

I have a close group of friends in my neighborhood. Parents friends, my friends, brothers friends, etc. We're all close and good friends and always have a good time together. Outside of my group of friends I generally dislike most people and find them rather dumb, asshole/bitchy, or just simply annoying. I am open to new people from the start, I never prejudge, But usually by around 1 minute into the conversation I know if I want to keep talking to you or not and to me at least it's fairly obvious. I stop talking and give one word answers, then find a way to get distracted and go do something else.

I hate a large percentage of the general U.S. population. I think ASW is the longest that I have ever gone without wishing somebody around me would drink a gallon of bleach. Many of the people that I met there I could handle being around daily.

Most of my old friends are into sports, hard core freaks (not mma, that one sport I like). Seems like its the only thing they know.
Its getting harder and harder to pretend Im interested in their conversation. I want to talk about making money all the time. Most people get turned off by that, because they have regular jobs. So I just say fuck it, and talk about sports.
I figured I have am radio for politics and wicked fire for the money talk. Just smile and wave boys, just smile and wave.

And yes I like people. Specially if they can show or teach me something useful. Everybody else can fill out my lead forms. I need them to.

Felt the same way, lol

If we put all of the attendees from ASW into one town I think I'd consider it a 24/7 lifestyle of vacation mixed with hardcore grinding hustle. I'd move there in a fucking heartbeat.

(cue Smax saying San Diego :P)

More neckbeards than I thought on here.

I'm a raging nerd, but I love hanging with the boys, playing some poker and drinking beers whenever I can.

Up until doing what I do now, I worked heavily with the public. Part of me misses it. In all honesty I hate the general public, a bunch of morons. But I do miss their retardness.
