Seriously 80% of marriage in afganistan is forced marriage. In addition, women cannot have sex outside marriage or even work. Yet those women cannot be a sex worker in western world because "prostitution is inherently nonconsensual especially in third world". It's marriage, not prostitution that is forced. Taliban don't prohibit marriage and force prostitution. It's the other way around.
To me, it looks a lot more like women in western world do not want to compete with cheaper women from third world.
Consent means you want it. You want it means the gain is higher than the cost, including opportunity cost. By getting married to a poorer male women forgo a lot of money she could have made being a sex worker or mistress of some richer wicked fire male.
If possibly better offers, defined by what many would choose if they can, are illegal, how can marriage are consensual?
It's like me putting gun on your head saying you can't buy from the store next door. Then you choose to buy from my store. Is that consensual?
What about if I said you can't buy from EVERY other store. What about if I said you can't buy from most stores that provide PREFERABLE deals?
