Do you invest in buying .ORGs and .NETs?

I dont believe that there is as much of an SEO weight to .org and .com (although .com may be optimal for type-in traffic) as some people make out, I have several .me.uk's kicking ass right now and have seen some .co's creeping up in the serps too

.com > .net > .org but the difference is small and the difference between .net and .org is too small

.com > .net > .org but the difference is small and the difference between .net and .org is too small

From my own experience, I have always got better results from .org domains rather than .net, although the difference is minimal. And, overall, the .com domains always give the best results :)

So, I see that the highest .ORG sale ever was poker.org for 1M, which seems kinda cheap to me.

Do you think .ORGs and .NETs will ever be as expensive as .COMs are? I mean, I see GoDaddy selling ridiculous sounding .COMs like AustrianRemedies.com for $2000 and up... when sometimes the .ORGs and/or .NETs of those same domains are available at reg fee.

Do you invest in buying .ORGs and .NETs on a regular basis when you find good ones? Do you think they will ever reach the popularity (and price!) of .COMs in the future?

yes you are right, however if you are getting a dictionary word of .org and .net domain name then it is worth it.

In my domain portfolio 90% of domains are .com and others are net and org.

But prices for net and org domains won't be on the same level as .com because there is way higher competition in .com domain market.

I like brandable .net domains, like network, internet and other related things.
Org is good for organizations and if combination sounds better than .com or net

For me, its like mineral investing.

.com = gold
.net & .org = silver
the rest = the rest.

I'd go for gold ofcourse bt if the .com isn't available, then its silver up-for-grabs.

Depending on the name itself and the niche, dot org can quite easily outrank a dot net. Values for dot orgs have been steadily increasing as more and more people come to understand the value of the extension. It has a good reputation amongst internet users and is a solid choice amongst domainers.

It's still open to lots of investment as well and many can still be gotten with a simple hand reg since the market is not as saturated as dot com.

In most cases I would take it over the net without question.

As for ever achieving the same value as a dot com, well even dot com hasn't gotten back to the dizzying heights of some of its earlier sales. Dot org will probably never match the glory days of dot com but I think you will find over a long period of time it will only increase in value.

.nets seems to do better in serp than .org for whatever reason. I'd take .nets, and only .org on a name that i really want

There has been much debate wether .org domains are better for SEO than .net domains.
Most people are saying that they get better results with .org. I don't know if this is true or not, but the difference between both must be minimal.
