This is a concept millions of people don't understand.
If you're doing something you really enjoy you might not want to retire 20-30 years early. Obviously, there is a balance that needs to be found between pay and enjoyment subjective to each individual person.This is really only valid to a certain point. I know plenty of people who make big money doing things they don't necessarily love, but it's worth the "sacrifice" because it allows them to retire 20-30 years early.
If you're just talking about "regular job" money then yeah, you might as well do something you love and make the same money.
