Hey tell me what is fair to you if you care to.

Advertizer with great product gets introduced to webmaster with affiliate marketing ties. Webmaster wants to do website and run all aspects of the offer, but doesn't want to or can't put in any money.

Aff. Manager/webmaster wants 50 percent of profits. Tempermental and sometimes demanding, AM/Web demands cpanel access or is "walking away
"

Should advertizer be we worried about that request? Is asking for 50 percent of profits outrageous or fair?

Don't be shy.

Would you rather collect 10% on some volume, or 50% on none? I think asking for 50% is a little outrageous to be honest. The advertiser probably spent a great deal of time/money/effort/sleepless nights building everything and takes hearing how somebody wants 50% (without putting up a dime of their own money) as disrespect.

Clickbank offers and digital products are pretty much the only things with huge commission rates.

Also, keep in mind the advertiser could go direct to any affiliate network... so he doesn't really need you. The only way you could be of value is if you can write killer copy or design landing pages that convert. The CPA network will connect the advertiser with the people who can drive volume, so what do you bring to the table exactly?

50% is too much, especially if webmaster isn't putting up any money. Unless you're bringing some extra gravy the advertiser can't get elsewhere lower the % to something reasonable to start with and keep the door open on increasing it at set periods of time, tied to goals and what not.

I helped someone with their affiliate program a while back and started off on 10% or 15% commission on sales brought in

Thanks for sharing.

You guys all seem to be assuming that the OP is the webmaster. The OP seems to be the advertiser, all the language on that side is positive, all the language on the other side is negative.

OP: Why not just hire someone as a webmaster, no 50% bs.

50% of profits might not be too high... I have a company looking for affiliates I manufacture high quality patio furniture and sell direct so I can compete with imports my margins are low so 50% of net is about 10% of sale price my sales average about $2000 and I will gladly pay you $200 if you get the customer...

So are you interested? to they have small free/cheap affiliate software for small timers?

hit me up if you want to help I would love to a program set up so I could spend more time in production and less time on here...

Correct I am the advertizer. Any help getting this into the right hands would be appreciated as this is a time sensitive offer and it could do well for the right people. Thanks. Pm if you can help. Thank you.

If you're the advertiser. I suggest it's time you move on to another Affiliate Company - there are plenty of others.

Also, the "Grant cPanel access or am walking away" part was sheer bullshit.

Why would an affiliate company need your cPanel access. At the most they'll get access to your tracking program.

Either that or am ignorant as fuck.

Find a good network that will help guide you without any backend %. If you want to jump on a call next week, I can help you. Not sure if we will be the right network for you or not, as I don't know your product... but if I'm not I will point you to a couple that are a good fit and trust worthy. No strings attached. =)

^What he said.

There's no reason for the Affiliate Network to have access to anything beyond their stats.

Source: I'm an Account Manager for a network, and I'd never think of asking for an Advertisers cPanel login.
