Difficulty getting approved...

the most important thing is TO BE REAL, tell them that you are wanting to run traffic with them. As it has been said try and get the contact info of an AM and talk to the person. Also make sure to know your stuff so you do not end up like this guy: Convert2Media: Phone Application Interview with a Frauder - YouTube

I am going to transcribe this video if I ever get time. I think that WF could really benefit from having his pitch in script-form. "Ninja Optimization" WOW:cool2:

Grieve! I've been following your case study posts, and they've been very inspirational. Actually, I'm a little bit glad that I got smacked down by A4D, because it caused me to take a step back and really decide how I wanted to approach this. I feel like I have a good plan now, and I'm excited to see what kind of results I get.

In a sense, I'm glad you were smacked down too. It is going to teach you a valuable lesson - you are going to take a beating before you get anywhere on Facebook. Take it from me. Hell, I'm profiting at this point (but nowhere near the numbers others are pulling), but given what I've gone through, it feels like I'm on top of the world right now.

Just keep trying. Talk to someone else on A4D, trust me. Tell them what you're capable of, in a sense. I trust from your posts that you are ready to really give this a good effort. Let THEM know that though, not just wickedfire.

Good to hear you are in the black... is it time to scale that campaign up, or do you have more conversion optimization to do?

I'm the type that has an obsessive desire to do as absolutely best as I can...so there's always room for more optimization ;) But realistically, number 1 "problem" right now is scaling up. I'll discuss it further in my blog post within the hour.

If you need any help btw, add me on skype @ georgek8911.

how could I go about getting a referral?

Making friends with other people in the industry. A4D is a great network, but there are plenty of others too, so don't get hung up no them. Most networks want people with a track record, so that might mean signing up for other networks and building your reputation.

If your going to bullshit you have to make sure you have your industry terms and acronyms correct. For example, you said you were going to to do CPC advertising direct-to-offer. The correct bullshit lie would have been "I'm doing PPC advertising direct to offer". CPC refers to "cost per click" and is a metric used inn PPC marketing. It is a slight difference but the AMs and the networks will pick up on it right away and deny you.

Also, one of the very first replies was the best advice you could receive. Directly after you submit your application, call the network and ask to talk to someone about your application.

+1. I jumped the gun a little bit when I sent out my first applications...too much reading in a short period of time left me foggy and unable to explain what I wanted to do, as well as mixing up my terminology...still the CPC/PPC mistake was major, thanks for pointing that out. I'd forgotten I'd even said that.

I'm looking for some tips or referrals on how to get approved by the networks. I've applied to several and so far haven't had any success. I live in the US, speak English well, and although I don't have any real experience with IM, I feel like I have enough understanding to get involved and spend some money testing direct-to-offer campaigns.

What is the reasoning behind denying an application to a network? Is it a case of prudence in regards to fraud, or something else? I currently own a handful of domains, and I'm in the process of populating them with content, but I need some offers to work with.

I realize I'm completely new, and I thank you in advance for any advice you might have.

Who the fuck let this guy in?

oh how far you have come

Right after your application, call the networks. Offer them to send in your w8/9 formula, talk like it's a business and not a fun signup. Contact your AM on any IM they use so they see you are really following up your application.

Beside that, create a domain with 4-5 pages about 'your company'. Be sure it looks like a real business page and not a wufoo form. I do not think it's really that hard to get approved when you are show you are serious about AM.

If you still fail to get approved, get some referrals from forums / friends and it should not be a problem at all.
