My god... I would LOOOOOVE to get the disinfo contract on this from DoD.... I'd totally do it at Cost+ in a heartbeat!!

Bullshit.

Guys planned a site that would be easily done on a WP install, blew it up as "search engine for anarchists", "what the government does not want you to know" etc...

Received all kinds of attention and funds, and took the easy way out.

Inb4 the DoD says "we did whut now?"

If only the people behind this were that important, could be, but I doubt it.

THIS ^^^

I'd wager 3:1 that this is the case. Smart on the site owners though. If they know how to do pull this off, they will soon start an alex jones type website selling 'water detox pills' and specialty anti-brain-control hats.

QFT. Was looking forward to what DEFCAD could've become. It doesn't seem like they even put up much of a fight, and the tone of their tweet makes it seem like they've completely abandoned the project.

Oh ye of little faith.

Try too keep up with the important stuff, will you?

Cody's endgame doesn't even have anything to do with guns, and he's well on his way to accomplishing it.

What's the big fucking deal? Go to lowes and you can make yourself a .44 in no time for $20-$30. Christ, the shit people worry over. 3D printing will never be practical at $9000 a piece.

I love when people treat emerging technologies like established technologies.
Nothing about this - not what they created, and not the DoD's reaction to it - is about the technology that exists right now.
Move this technology forward 10 years, and where do you think we'll be sitting?
I'll tell you: Cheaper printers, more versatile materials, and stronger bonding agents that make it more similar to metal.
3D printing will not be practical at $9000 a piece, but it's not going to be $9000 a piece either.
Once upon a time a printing press was a huge investment as well. What did your last inkjet printer cost you?
