Crypto-currency mining?

WARNING: I cannot speak from experience on this one, but since you brought the bewbs, time to spill the good stuff:

Apparently there are ways to mine altcoins in big moving pools that target the most profitable coin at the moment.

I've heard stories that up to a bitdime a day can be made this way, but that's on some heave GPU equipment. (Like a half dozen 7970s.)

So you'd still need to use a good graphics card to make any good coin here, but if you join a pool like alternatepool.com or hashco.ws you'll automatically be paid out in bitcoin every night for the mining you did that day on the coin that they choose based off of what is the most profitable atm.

Anyone who tries this out, plz let us know here how off I am with this info.

If you really want to make money off of this shit, take some of the open source crypto-currency code out there and start your own that centers on some bullshit cause.

"hivcoin is designed to blergitbloop blop with the hopes of curing HIV/AIDS."
"jewcoin is mathematically programatically endeavored to ensure that the Jewish homeland is forever free from rock throwing Palestinians".
"gopcoin uses a complex pseudomechanical cryptoflopdoodle to leverage the computing power of god fearing republicans every where to take back our country".

Then after everybody deposits their anonymous coins you claim you've been hacked and go live on your yacht.

You are too late for this advice. The time to do it was June, when the alt-coin universe jumped from just 6 alts to 150 including "sexcoin" and "offerings to clthulhu". You can trade sexcoin on Cryptsy if you want.

The alt market is now saturated, and 51% attacks keep happening (especially to Feathercoin). Part of the whole wild west vibe is that there are some miners who enjoy killing coins as much as they do mining them.

Just to be clear, this is true with the much smaller and virtually unknown (compared to Bitcoin) crypto-currencies?
You may be able to jump in with some of the lesser known. But not for long. A lot of the big asics will just turn their servers to mining those as well as they become more profitable. If you want a chance at winning some of the calculation flops, you should probably join a pool.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I was planning on doing it on my own, but this sounds awesome.

Also, the best way to mine on the cheap is to get an AMD Radeon graphics card and use it to mine. Look up some tables on how much each card produces in killacryptohasbrowns or w/e measurement it is lul.

Wouldn't recommend buying a $500+ piece of equipment starting out. Start with GPU mining and then scale out once you know what you're doing and have made some money.

You could start a Trojan horse that infects windows computers by encrypting all attached drives. Then using a popup inform the computer owner that he can get the keys to decrypt his drive by sending 2 bitcoin to this address within 3 days. If they dont pay the keys get deleted off the hidden server, and the drive remains encrypted forever. If they pay the keys get emailed to them. Rinse and repeat.

I saw something just like this on American Greed minus the bitcoins.

Trade on Cryptsy

*shameless ref plug*

I've been using this exchange to convert BTC into other smaller coins and also converting smaller coins that I mine into LTC or BTC to save.

I just do a nightly performance on MFC and collect all the tokens, they're the same thing as BTC right?

Is it just me or is this site extremely slow?
