Critique my site

Wow I can already feel the love.

Can I get some more specific criticisms, or am I getting trolled? If my whole concept is off, just let me know so I can abandon this mess.

Oh, and I plan on taking out the Adsense Ad. I just put that in there to get my pagerank up. I don't know if that makes any difference.

Can I get some suggestions for improvement or shit to do? I know I'm a noob or a peasant or whatever the fuck you call people like me, but I don't see the point of douchey attacks.

Your only hope is to get on Twitter and tell Matt Cutts you really want to rank for "San Diego Chiropractor" and hopefully he'll do a blog post mocking you.

How can you think that ?

I read somewhere that if you put an Adsense ad on your page and keep refreshing your page, it forces Google to keep crawling your page to figure out why the ad isn't converting, so it can create a more relevant ad. I don't know if that's true or not, but I figured it won't hurt to try, especially since I'm not getting any traffic right now anyway.

You're quite the comedian, jackass. You should take that act on the road and get hit by a bus.

The header of your site is calling people lazy. And you want people to trust you and buy from you? It's also confusing with buttons that say Buy Now making people think they're buying it from your site when they're really being sent over to another site to buy it from.

This needs to be changed.

Alright, I'll bite, serious critique:

The site is amateur beyond repair. Get a new layout. Either hire someone to make you a professional website or shell out the money to get a premade professional layout.

Don't toss up 16 different types of electronics in one big orgy. If I want to look at cameras, I am going to look for a tab or section that says cameras. I'm not digging through a pile of laptops and phones to find it. Categorize and organize.

Why are you putting where the deal is from below the product and not linking? I'm just to go straight to Amazon and buy it because their site is scammy-as-fuck looking.

It looks like a Wordpress blog. Make it not look like that.

Serious here: the site and overall design are terrible - there is no real "authoritative-ness" to it, and this is important when people are going to spend a couple hundred on your site. Providing a more clean layout, and adding more content will help this.

Also, like Teegs mentioned - group your products up better. Go category and even sub-category - I think the more granular you go, the better.

On the product pages themselves, can you add a reviews section and maybe even pull reviews from the manufacturer, or the advertisers site? Reviews/testimonials are important, and will help sell further. The "about the company" section on the product specific pages, fucking sucks. Add a real "about" - "Newegg has great deals on PCs." does not compel me to buy a new computer from Newegg - go at it like your customers have never heard of Newegg.

Can you add a plug-in so that the consumer can zoom into the product image further? I think this would help.

Look at other online-retailers and see what information (sales points) they give. You could learn a lot from them. Also make sure you have a smooth transition from your site, to the advertisers site.

Hey thanks for all the criticisms! I am going to add categories - I just couldn't figure out how to to do with Wordpress and keep my permalinks, so I'll work on that.

I agree that the site needs a lot of work, but I'm new to this stuff, and I'm definitely ready to put some time in, so here goes!!

I don't really do e-commerce...so this might be wrong as hell but:

You can't claim to be a geek when your site looks as bad as it does.

4 Best Free eCommerce Wordpress Themes | dailytechpost

^Look at theme 4

Your logo has a bunch of money symbols in a box...kinda gives off the impression that your expensive....pm me if you want a quality logo for fairly cheap.

Personally I'd use a tagline such as "We Do The Geek Work For You" and I wouldn't have the tagline as my meta description. No one is going to be searching for your slogan.

Make your title grammatically proper, a bunch of lowercase looks like shit.

I would change Blog to "Specials" or even "News"....update with articles highlighting a specific product and why your "expertise" has chosen that product...might give you some SEO and a sense of authority. (follow trends)

"Submit a Deal" kinda gives off the impression that you don't chose quality items and let randoms submit what they think is best. I'd remove it.

Get them to the actual offer as fast as possible....don't waste time having a "Buy Now" and details section - just send them off to newegg/amazon with a "See More" button or w/e. (although having a one liner for each telling why its so great would be good EX: "Twice as fast as the iPad 2 and half the price!")

Try and make your site look as close to the theme example as possible - work around it and realize that its a far better design.

Hi Ramtin,

Here's my first instinct when I get to your site...

You have no unique selling proposition (USP). Why would people buy from you when they could buy from Future Shop? You hint that you help people save time by showing them which is the best product in each category ...you need to explain why that's important (with great copy).

Your site is called TodaysTechDeals... focus on that! Your name implies that each day you have a special or 'hot' deal. Perhaps use sliders on the homepage to showcase one of those deals. If you focus on too many things you're going to do a lot of things poorly. Maybe aim to sell one product everyday for a SICK price that people will feel SAD if they miss out on that deal.

Think about the market you are competing in. You are trying to catch people while they are in the 'research' stage of buying. And the ONLY reason people would buy from you instead of the big guys is if you are cheaper.

As a nobody you need to focus on ONE thing and do it better than everybody else. Then once you become an authority on that one thing and become a credible source, expand your funnel and start branching out.

Hope that helps!
