Just saw this on Reddit.

Besides Sugar Gliders what else are there?

I know a couple of you have some neat pets. First thing that pops to mind is ly_from_wf's Bengal cat that still has enough wild in its genes to enjoy taking baths.

Those things would be fun with a bat. Louisville slugger, that is

They're not for everyone, but I've had 2 small parrots for almost 11 years now and they're pretty awesome. If you're curious about getting one, there are a ton of rescues and most will take the bird back if it turns out to be a bad fit. My sun conure:

Warnings:

  • You won't be able to invite Jon over to visit. He will eat your bird.
  • Certain breeds are noisy (my green cheek conure is quiet, but the sun conure can be kind of a jerk sometimes)
  • Larger parrots can take off your finger if you don't know how to handle them properly
  • They have very sensitive lungs. Heated Teflon (not just pans but heaters, toaster ovens, hair dryers, etc), cleaning products, fragrances, etc. can kill a bird. On the bright side, good air quality is good for you, too.
  • They need a good amount of attention (but they love to sit with you while you work) and they live anywhere from 10-80 years depending on the type of parrot.

Nothin' like 'em. Nothin' beats em, IMO. Raise from kitten, pal for years.

Pussy, either way.

Sugar gliders cute, but major pain in the ass.

I've had Marcel for 2 years now. Here's a pic of me when I first got him. I had just broken up with my girlfriend Rachel (what a cunt...) and Marcel was there to keep me warm at night. Don't tell anyone though.. they're not legal here in NYC.

If you have any questions about monkey ownership, send me a PM. I'll be there for you
(Cause you're there for me too).

In my area, they sell parrots from RIO and all those exotic ones that go for x,xxx or higher, loud as fuck, but pretty
