To summarize, this is a 2hr long interview with John Perkins about the inner workings of the military industrial complex.
I'm not sure how many people here will find this interesting but I for one have always been fascinated with the dark side of economics so this is definitely a gem.

The school is quite terrible at the moment and the community stayed the same in terms of demographics.

Enlightening, but not surprising.

Life is game, and the game is money. Obviously by any means for many in power.

Lots of Brooklyn heads here...I knew the atmosphere felt familiar/comfy.
Currently watching the video, so far so good. The world beyond it's surface is always interesting.

Watched the whole thing. Amazing interview. He put the pieces in there masterfully. For all you believers or non believers as quoted in the interview the events are doucmented the only thing up for debate is his personal story.

i read the book a few years ago. my girlfriend gave it to me. damn decent if you ask me. i recommend it to anyone that wants a good read.

read the book, being african i kinda go its totally hopeless shit the world managed to screw the arabs so what chance do africans have. And this was back in the 50's or 60's or something. Now the arab world is supertight on their oil and practically carving america for themselves. So where does any washington politically connected living from houston ma fucka go, Africa. You can have all the live8 concerts in the world, but there is something deeper here. Helping africa sounds great and having this guy who suddenly becomes conscious is even better. The scary thing is this, there are too many people out there scared shitless about their jobs Cough* haliburton *cough that are basically carving out what they can without anyone challenging them. Oh you think those comittess in washington are going to do anything. Democrats, republicans independents all have blood on their hands. I mean look at iraq. Now if these guys can manage to do that to their own flock, why bother hoping that america and the general super g 8 countries are going to take care of africa. China is doing something, and it should with 9 billion chinese or however many there are they are going to get any resource they can get their hands on. Where else to get it, africa of course. Now are they going to send their chinamen to africa to do it. Nope, they need stable goverments and markets for their cheap ass goods and where else can they get that.
A healthy africa could provide an amazing market for american products but their is some weird perception out there that we need to keep africa bleeding. Good luck with getting oil from nigeria without constant battles. What was this thread about again. ??
:)

Here is an outrageous article about France's wars in the Central African Republic. They've been screwing that place over for decades and it's hardly a blip on anyone's radar. Inside France's secret war - Independent Online Edition > Africa

Dru, there is a shitload of money to be made in africa. Especially in wireless communications. There has been alot of goverment monopoly breakup in kenya, where i am from. Some international investors came in and bought the cellphone company and partnered with local investors... they are making a killing. A killing, profit margins that would leave you breathless. China is doing the same thing too, they apparently need oil from sudan, so they came over and rebuilding the local stadiums and the road leading all the way to sudan cause they cant use somalia(which fucking rocks) Oh and kenyans buy a shitload of goods from china, and you can travel freely b2n the 2 countries. I should know my uncle lives in china. :) Billions in oil is taken from nigeria and there are people dying there. The reality is that nigerians are not that corrupt, hahah i know how that sounds, they are money hungry not corrupt. Do you know how far only 60 mill a year would go in africa. Forget all that talk about corruption, if you stipulate and control some of the funds through N.G.O's you can build hospitals and staff them. With Nigeria being a muslim country, trust me the rest of the islams around will follow. They are not as terrifying as foxnews makes them to be(Muslims). It would cost practically nothing for exxon and all the other companies to make up some organisation around to help build schools and hospitals. Why dont they do it, cause some poor bitch in houston or now in Dubai(halliburton) is so greedy and wants a heft bonus at the end of the year and decides to fuck africans over. People dont pay attention to history and they never learn from other people mistakes. Kids grow up and if you dont pay attention to them and by gods grace they make it, guess where you are going to look for help when you are old. :) guess who wont help you out. You will be old miserable without your children's support. China is going to get favoured over america over and over again. They are going to get access to african resources over and over again. If you think paying 4 bucks is excessive for oil wait till you are paying 6 bucks a gallon. :) Why cause china has 8 billion people and the goverment is smart enough to approach african leaders with some sort of dignity and not leave africa bleeding.
On france, those ma fuckas are so fucked up, they have been for along time. There are new leaders coming into power in Africa that you need to take care. This ma fuckas dont give a fuck, if you thought Idi Amin was Bad and Black Hawk Down was an amazing film, well try sending american forces into a country like Zimbabwe.
There is nothing like sending a peace keeping force into a country that thinks the current goverment is acting in their best interests. Oh wait, we have Iraq and Chile.
