On the firing line
So, here's something weird...

I went through the ads being displayed on my arbi sites and added some sites to the CAF (Competitive Ad Filter). What happened was the opposite of what I expected.

(disclaimer, this is based on 7 clicks, so it possible - probable - that I didn't give it enough time)

Okay, the first click paid $1.84, then I added some sites to the CAF, and the next 5 clicks only paid $0.08 to $0.11 per click. I cleared out the CAF last night and my one click for today paid $1.69.

Is this a coincidence? or has anyone else experienced this?

Ummm....this is even weirder.....but I just looked into the last few days of Adsense and now, it only shows 3 clicks for that channel instead of 7. Very weird. I think I'm losing my mind.

Disregard this thread...

I think you have nowhere near enough clicks to draw any kind of conclusion at all. Don't waste your time on it. And don't waste your time with the competitive ad filter yet. You should be focused on getting more clicks... the CAF is a minor tweak you can apply later.

Yahoo is another matter. Their targeting blows so badly sometimes you need to extensively apply their CAF just to prevent your page about "Widgets" from showing ads for "Sparkling Blue Widget Fair Yesterday in Bumblefuck, Texas" to some guy in NYC.

That's the only reason i pulled out the CAP is because of this problem about texas. I'm most likely going to abandon this niche all together because by the time i've banned those problem sites there isn't too much left except for 13 cent clicks. They know how to write an ad instead of the 4 dollar/ad people.
