More forum enhancements are being rolled out.. Sometime later today or tomorrow you will notice a change on how you post new threads, and how things will be categorized much easier.

No webmaster related forum has ever implemented this, so I consider this a WickedFire Original! We're calling this concept "tagging". This way you can easily spot the type category you want to look at. No more getting confused if images are not safe for work because the idiot forgot to label it. It will also make it a lot easier for everyone to see what type of thread it is without reading the title first.

This may someday replace all of the sections, and merge them all into one so that everything is combined, thus keeping popular threads on the first page longer, and moving the threads that aren't so great to the next page. Not sure if I'm going to run with this or not, but it's definitely something I've been considering.

Here's a quick look at the concept tags and what they will look like:

There are about 30 or so tags being made, with all sorts of lovely words to cover pretty much any topic you can think of, both in the shoot the shit mode and tags related to our industry.

Admins and mods = we may have to go through all of the 2k+ threads and re-tag them with the new ones.

As far as the one forum section goes. Do it.
I think that would make this forum even more lively than it is. As long as the search feature is top notch, it would suck having to find your thread buried deep below a ton of new posts.

Sorry, it isn't original. NamePros implemented that system a couple of months back. :p

Clicky

No.. theirs sucks. It's a blatant rip off of fark.com. No icons or emotions whatsoever. Wankers!

I dig the concept, Fark tags are too ugly. By the way when can I get one of those baller t-shirts?

I'm going to have them ready to go by Ad:Tech NY. So figure November.

Yeah, it's something that would definitely increase user activity and make threads that are already 50 posts deep, go even deeper to 100-150 probably. But at the same time it may cause some confusion. I think I may hire a custom vbulletin programmer of some sort to incorporate the tags into the search so that people can categorize the threads by tag categories. We'll see how the image tags take to the community, and if all goes well, then I will most likely make the switch.

PS - there are a TON of new features coming very soon. This cosmetic change to the surface of the site is just scratching the surface. With the WF Labs creations and all sorts of other enhancements I have a good feeling WF will become a large player and rival to that of DP, SPF and WMW within a year or less.

I guess it is just a question WHO will be the first to label his thread "SO GAY!".

when do you need my tshirt size? :xmas-smiley-016:

Sizes are going to be for:

Men:
M, L, XL

Women:
S, M

If you don't fit into those sizes, I'll try and accomodate you, but will also include a Slim-Fast bar with your tshirt. :xmas-smiley-016:

haha nah, the other way around. I'm 5'7" and medium build....just wanted to make sure you're not making generic XXL one-size-fits-all shirts

I applaud this idea.

*Clap, Clap, Clap*

If implemented well, it'd really be a nice breeze of fresh air in the webmaster community and could do wonders for differentiation.

FUCK DP and those other sites! I KNOW this site will outgrow them, and I hope that with the growing size, we can at least keep the site as informative as it is now, instead of 100000 12 year olds trying to be SEO gurus!

Well, they all clearly have more members and more active members than WF does, but the goal is to drum up more ACTIVE members rather than just signups in general.
