So I want to start collecting my own leads. The only problem right now is where do i go to sell these leads? I know you can get a lot more money per lead but is it worth the hassle? Is there long time constraints on selling leads?

For example if i collect 100 leads for the day and they need to be sold asap can I find a buyer who will pay me daily or if my volume is lower at least weekly?

Do i need to worry about getting ripped off? What would be the pros and cons of selling your own leads?

Come on. This really depends on what niche you're talking about, yeah? Local small business leads like plumbing? Auto insurance leads? Dating leads? .. ??

Get a few buyers lined up. Then auction the leads - get them to bid. depending on the niche - with some it can be on a per lead basis, others in bulk.

Im just talking your basic leads for offers you see on networks. Auto, debt, mortgage stuff like that.

Also Im not a very good coder so im wondering if there is a script or something I can just input into my website to setup forms and a way to export the data without it being a huge programming project. I've heard of using google docs but can their forms be customized?

If not I think i know how to setup the forms in html and all that but I am lost on what i need to save the data and collect it.

I don't do exactly what you're talking about, but I recently set up a form for a client who wanted to collect leads just using the Contact form 7 plugin for wordpress.
WordPress › Contact Form 7 WordPress Plugins

No programming knowledge needed - you just use a simple mark up language to define the fields, its very customizable. On submission it just sends an email to the client. Took literally only a few minutes to set up, but only works with wordpress of course.

Nice ill use that for my larger sites but right now word press would be too restrictive for my current sites i want to collect leads on.

If i were to set this up on my own. Im guessing a database would be the best way to do it or can the data be sent to spreadsheet file? If so is it a pain in the ass to setup? Should i hire someone to write the code out for me?

its not hard to integrate a wordpress install with an existing site, I have various sites where the landing page is html but other parts of the site are WP. I am lazy with that kind of shit and its a little convoluted, but to avoid messing around with code just add WP along side the site, even if it only drives one page. Of course you could just get coder to do this shit for you. personally I just throw WP at everything, because its so flexible and brainless.

if you want to generate a spreadsheet you could just append the data to a CSV (comma separated values) file, that excel can easily read.

again. its easy with wordpress. here's a couple of plugins that will put the data into a database or a spreadsheet for you:
WordPress › FormBuilder WordPress Plugins
cforms II delicious:days

A tip I got from someone who does this kind of shit is to then set up a page where your clients can log in and bid on each lead within a defined time limit. you don't show them the contact info, obviously, but just the relevant stats.
or you can make a deal with a single client to buy all your leads, or several, where each has their parameters to qualify.

disclaimer - I'm a little tipsy right now. so the info here may be pure awesomeness or utter balderdash. in any case, its not getting me laid, so I'm gonna have to move along now.

OP - To answer your original question about where to sell the leads, you have a few options:
1. Try to go direct with the advertisers you were doing leads for through the network.
2. Sell to a lead aggregator, e.g. LeadPile (there are others like them, as well).
3. Sell to the end users of the leads.

Note: You'll want to be aware of payment terms and tracking.
