C'mon Ballers - How baller are you really?

G

The same guy I was talking about that did the billboard had a website and got his story on yahoo news.. How to get national exposure or to get the attention of yahoo to do a story? This would go right along with the current health care stuff going on.

If you make the digg story and post it here i'm sure it'll get some action. Reddit as well. Reddit is much better for stuff like this.

I suck at writting story's have a writter full time for that shit but she is way behind..

What about this guy that is here? http://www.wickedfire.com/content/4...-2-100-words-only-pay-if-youre-satisfied.html

I never used him but looked at some of his work and looks good, or someone you guys have in mind?

I'll donate the write-up.

Did you want a press release, article, blog post? I can write whatever and give it to whomever to post where it will do the most for y'all.

Donated $100, bumped the two threads. Let's keep them active until we raise the entire amount!

That is awesome...!! What would be the best a press release? I am sure some of these pro marketers would know..

A press release has the possibility to be picked up by bloggers and such if it's distributed properly - a true media distribution. The release could blend his medical issues with the Health Care Bill easily enough and would be timely and newsworthy for pick-up. It's written as a news article for the most part without overt emotion, although you can include sway through quotes and such.

A blog post or article can get out there a bit faster and can be written in a more personable style. This would be easier and less expensive than distributing a full blown press release. It's great for viral marketing through certain channels, but an article doesn't have as much potential for pick-up through true news sources.

So really, it just depends on how someone wants to approach this - both avenues have been discussed already.

ummm can't he now get insurance with the new bill since they have to cover pre existing conditions?

Anyway, I feel no sympathy for him, why didn't he get insurance? He seems old enough where if he wasn't a lazy retard you should have been able to afford it

You guys should donate to something that's actually defenseless? Some of you guys may be the epitome of the obvious research that says people are more willing to donate when they're shown a picture of one starving child vs 2 or more and even more so when they know the story of the child

You know his family can take out a loan to pay for this stuff

His tumor is likely benign

The bill just got passed, there will be a pool created soon for people with pre-exsisting conditions.. He would be dead before that happened.

When it comes to brain cancer it does not matter if it is benign or malignant, both will kill you just the same when it comes to brain cancer.

I would not piss on you if you were on fire ;)

I have non-cancerous brain tumor and I'm fine. I just take bromocriptine twice a week.

Do you have stent in your head to decrease the intracranial pressure?

Your tumor is not growing, obviously this guys is i.e stent needed... It will kill you just the same as malignant, an increased intracranial pressure will cause a hemorrhage or herniate the base of your spine and will eventually kill you if not released, or the cause of the increased pressure is stopped.. ie benign tumor.

I know this is the shoot the shit part of forum... but come'on grown the fuck up.

FYI to your friend (or Matt's family)... depending on his income level and financial resources... the hospital has the ability to write off part or all of his care (usually part).

If, for some reason, he doesn't get a reduction (which he should pursue aggressively)... if he pays out of cash he should still receive a drastic pay decrease because the rate they charge insurance companies is highly inflated. Hospitals also offer payment plans over time.

Also he should be able, under most state-supported insurance programs, to apply for insurance that will cover his procedures retroactively. It is a state 'welfare' insurance and I can't tell which state he is in... but that can be done through a hospital-assigned social worker. He or his family just has to request one. The social worker actually fills out all the paperwork and petitions on his behalf. It is in the hospitals' best interest to get him insurance retroactively because that is their best assurance of getting paid.

None of these options sound palatable, I know, but they are on the table and any cash he can have written off his bill is more in his pocket.

Where are all the socialist-phobic, mine-is-all-mine-and-mine-alone, compassion-free hidden rebill slingers demanding that we should not pay for someone else's healthcare? An unregulated market will sort it out, right? May the strongest survive...

Donate for Matt's cancer treatment? OMG, that's socialism!!

There's a difference between donating voluntarily and being forced to donate.

Good point.

I still find it interesting how many people here are more than happy to support Matt, simply because he has a face and a blog, but cry murder and "The End Is Nigh" about a national healthcare system. At the end, that's just a million Matts put in a big pot.

And each one of us could be Matt tomorrow and need other people's help paying, be it through voluntary or state-mandated insurance. I'd still much prefer the latter to begging for donations.
