in Europe you have to get a theoretical test, pass it, then take around 15-30 hours of driving lessons before you even can go to the DMV and take the practical test, in which you get to actually leave the place and drive in real world conditions. We also learn about priority laws when turning, which you guys simply dont.
What amazed me the most during my stays in the US was at a simple crossroad in SD. Instead of obeying by the regular laws of driving, which is, the car on the right takes the priority, these people were rather just letting one after the other pass.
