Workers minimum wage is taken as part of the cost of the product/service while the ceo's salary is not. You don't need the CEO to make the product, you need the workers

So the CEO doesn't affect productivity?

Increase material cost of product, then product needs to increase price to get the same profit. Workers min salary such as a McDonald worker making the burger is as closely linked to the price as material cost. No burger maker, no burger. Same cannot be said for the CEO.

its no surprise OP's example was a monster corporation... in the propaganda wars, that plays best.

the reality? 85% of businesses in the US are small businesses that make just enough to provide the owner a lower-middle class lifestyle. such a ludicrous minimum wage increase would decimate most of them. the "we are the 99%" crowd doesn't think about that (or much else) in their blind rage to take down the corporations they hate, because to them, its war. the liberal party is nothing if not the "certified party of unintended consequences".

Any cost will at least be partially passed to the consumer, including executive pay.

Rule #1 Get people emotionally worked up over something, and all logic goes out the window.

The CEO of McDonald's makes $13.8 million per year up from $4.1 million. That's a difference of $9.1 million.

McDonald's employs 400,000 workers at a median wage of $7.73 an hour. Although it's not accurate let us assume they work 40 hours per week. If McDonald's were to raise their employees pay to $15 an hour, the yearly cost of that raise would be over $6 billion. Although the real number they say closer to $4.5 billion.

$9.1 million doesn't make a big difference. $4.5 billion sure as fuck does.

Raising the minimum wage to $15 would only increase the cost of a Big Mac by between $0.68 to $1.25 (depending on whose study you believe), and increase the amount of money the typical American spends at Walmart by $18-20 per year.

Raising the minimum wage to $10.10 would only increase the cost of a Big Mac by between $0.40 to $.85, and the amount spent at Walmart by year to $12-$14.

Meanwhile, millions of people are lifted out of poverty.

Fuck it...
Let's raise the minimum wage to $25 per hour.
Then we can make it illegal for a company to not hire anyone that puts in a job application with them.

Problems solved!!!

sick math bro

You guys are thinking wrong. We need to all support raising the minimum wage as high as possible. After that, proceed to take work-at-home jobs, take the minimum wage, and outsource all that shit to India.
