Case Study: Spending 25,000.00 on an offline biz using WickedFire BST services.

Lol. So I did some local searches in Miami for a restoration related keyword(lucrative).

The number 1 result is a dumbass who's using one of those auto plugins for rank and rent and he's offering to rent out the website for 199$/month. What an idiot.

Weird I was literally just reading your thread on BuSo and thinking "Wow I can't believe he is going after Locksmiths and Plumbing". How did that go, they are both such a pain in the ass.

I'm barely putting any effort in the locksmiths niche. I'll send some links to it at some point as its doing decently in the SERPs. I'll find a locksmith through one of the existing guys I work with in other niches, and make him a good deal just so I can let it run on autopilot.

Plumbing is something for later. Its very competitive. At the same time its crazy money and volume. I'll have to do an analysis of whether its worth it or not down the line. Right now I"m just sitting on the website and literally have 1 link built to it.

On the other hand, the two sites that I"m putting my focus are doing pretty well.

One of them, we lost two jobs I personally went down to quote with because the main guy I was working with left for L.A, so his dumbass assistant bungled them both. Main guy was smart, his assistant is an employee and has no business making decisions. I was an idiot to trust his assistant.

For that site, I'm not even ranked on page 1 for any major keywords, but I'm still get some traffic and some leads because I've been adding a lot of content to the website, including landing pages for suburbs and neighborhoods.

I called up a couple of guys in the same niche, and they are very interested in meeting up and talking. I'll get a replacement guy so I don't have to deal with him again.

My last website is the one that just got on bottom half of page 1 for many of my major keywords. The guy I'm working with is a mutual friend, and I get a very good feeling from him. Enthusiastic, ambitious guy with a strong sense of integrity who wants to grow his business. I'm looking forward to this week to see how many calls come in. We've had a couple of small leads come in through the website that didn't go anywhere but nothing else really.

The good thing I've been doing is getting very involved with everything. I'm learning a ton about the trades, and its helping me build connections for future projects. Especially if I do well with the last website, he knows guys in EVERY single trade.

The last website doesn't have much content on it yet either, but I'm going to be rapidly building out the website and adding tons of blog posts and landing pages for various neighborhoods.

Looks like this offline biz will be needing a new website by October.

Almost there!

Update: Second has turned out to be a complete scumbag and I have hired an attorney out of Toronto to try and recover money that he has stolen. If we can't we will pursue criminal charges and try and get him thrown in jail. Will post his mugshot!

While it's only $400, I'd love to get my money back as well. Still haven't seen shit from him. Good luck on roasting this fucker

Congrats on the success and sorry to hear you got burned. I didn't mean to come across as snarky with my previous comment. I was just surprised to see somebody drop that kind of money upfront for what was essentially an ongoing service is all. Hope you manage to find some recourse.

This scenario is unlikely. It only works that way on TV. Which apparently you seem to get your legal wisdom from.

It sucks that you got scammed, but fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me = applies here.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson to not be a pussy about it next time. Good luck recovering funds... but it's unlikely now.

You reached out to me specifically to help in the situation with him.
I pooled together some quick resources after taking a deeper look into it and strongly recommended to you that you allow me to take action on your behalf, to not only assist in recovering your funds, but more so, to put the fucker into jail, where he belongs. I even made contact with others whom you claimed were unavailable and have been avoiding talking to you. Amazing how the moment I get involved, all communications seem to just open right back up and that the dickface contacted you immediately. Coincidence? No fucking way. I gave him an ultimatum of a few hours to either pay you back right then and there or I'd have local LE take over. He wasn't in Toronto at the time, but by some use of magic, I was able to figure it out.

Your response however was to give him yet another chance and you thanked me for my help, but that you were going to handle this one yourself and were now confident that he was going to make things right. I remember asking first and then strongly recommending for a final moment to please, let me do this, it will help you recover funds, we could put a bad guy into jail for once instead of just getting fake rallied up online on a forum or chat... and you said.... NO. You said that you could tell he was being real and honest this time, and I told you, that was him telling you whatever you needed to hear at that moment and show you a few things too, so that he could buy more time and string you along. I've busted more scammers than you will ever have to deal with. I know wtf I am talking about in this specific realm. But you chose to ignore that. I left off with letting you know that if you DID NOT ACT RIGHT NOW, he would get away with it.

So, while it sucks that you got scammed by someone, don't you dare pretend like you're going to go after him that way. You may sue him and win by default, but you won't be collecting those funds any time soon and it's time you quit dreaming about locking him up because you won't get it.

Next time don't be such a pussy about it and when someone offers you the option to get REAL justice, you should probably take it, especially when it's of no cost to you. You had my respect when you reached out and were upfront about a shitty situation. But you lost it, the moment you saw what was happening and chose instead to let it ride and resist going with your gut instinct. I like to think you resisted because you're not used to following it in these situations, but it happens for a reason, and your gut instinct is what keeps you on that path of doing the right thing, even if it's tough.

You also knew he pulled the same scheme on at least two others here (I dug deeper and found a few more than two and reached out to all of them -- one of them said he spoke with you, and he definitely wanted to pursue it but wanted to remain anonymous, and I told him that was fine, but it was in YOUR hands, not his...), and you instead chose to be selfish and told me to back down, because you got this... Well, you did get it.. a second round of lies and bullshit.

Next time don't reach out about it if you're not going to be okay with someone taking action on the fucker that deserves it. It's the same as when people would come here to post about not being paid, get paid, and then ask that we delete the thread since they got their monies and no longer need our help. It doesn't work like that.

Respect it or don't bother seeking it.

Anyway. Good luck with your campaign which has nothing to do with our lil gripe here. But please don't waste my fuckin time if this happens again.

I actually did a charge back on a few providers who failed to deliver, that's on them.

So much this - if a guy takes CC you can always get your money back within 6 months if you know what you are doing.

I've had so many people over the years that ignore me for 1-2 months after taking my money. They are suddenly surprised and outraged and sending me emails threatening to sue me after the money gets yanked back from them.

It's very surprising to me that people that take 3-4 figure credit card payments online aren't aware that if they don't keep a customer happy they can lose all the money collected from that customer over last 6 months in CBs.

Not for nothing, but I only brought it up to you. You are the one who launched the investigation. Which I appreciate, but I just don't see how you can help with this other than ban him on WickedFire, which he could give two shits about.

lol - If you don't understand how someone like Jon can do quite a bit more than "ban him on WickedFire" you need to go back to Internets and Business 101.

I'm sure my lawyers will contact Jon's office for legal advice in this matter.

Also I am not in the business of wetwork if that is what you were implying Jon would do.

Tons of calls, I stopped keeping track of total profits because of other projects. I'll sit down at the end of the month and see where I am at.
