Those are most of my components. Anyway so I put it all together. Mind you I've built 10+ computers before and all have worked fine.

After building it I plug it in and mother fucker there's no video signal going to my monitor. So immediately I assume it's my video card. So I bring it back and get a new one from Best Buy and put that one in and that doesn't work either. Then I put in my old computer's (the one i'm typing on now) video card which obviously works and still no fucking signal.

So then I assume it's the motherboard. So I send that back to newegg have them send me a new one and still same fucking problem. So now I think it's the processor. Is there anything else it could be guys? I don't want to send back the processor, get a new one, only to find out the processor isn't the problem either. I've never had a bad processor before which is probably why I'm so confused if that is the case. Any advice would be entirely appreciated. I'm sick of this shit and I just want this new beast of a computer to work so I can start slaying people in counter-strike source again like the good old days. Only with a super awesome graphics card and a million times better processor and better RAM and what not, PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance!!!

Just to make sure, have you tried it on more than one monitor? I've done shit like that before and it drove me insane only to find out the monitor was dead.

But I remember my friend having a problem like this, and it was his power supply. I don't know how it would be that though if it's powering on correctly. Processor is also possible. Sometimes building computers is a pain in the ass.

Yeah I tried it on another monitor and I even bought a new monitor cable, because I'm going to need one anyway. They're $45 at best buy for a fucking cable, ridiculous! But even if I hadn't, the monitor I'm using now is the one I tried it on so obviously it works.

Yeah it's powering up just fine, my blue LEDs are glowing, my temp gauge and fan speed gauge all in sexy blue glow. All my fans are running fine so It's definitely not the power supply either.

Agreed it's a total pain in the ass, but in the end it's worth it. Plus you always learn from it. Thanks for trying to help though I still appreciate it =P

Check the cables from the psu is correctly in the motherboard.
Check your memory, psu, motherboard. Check ide/sata cables.
The problem isn't really that you get no video signal. The computer doesnt boot up correctly at all i guess.

What video card do you have?
I assume you have a PCI Express video card, since Express slots is all that board has.

Does the computer seem to go through the correct boot-up sequence and just not show video, or is it not booting at all? If it's not booting up correctly, check the RAM. I've built a lot of computers, and 9 out of 10 times, the problem is the RAM.

I had a problem like this...but i was stupid...simply didnt press the video card in hard enough. all i had to do was use compress air to clean the dust away from the slot and press harder. i dont think thats your problem though because you've been through so many vid cards that one time or another you probably pushed it in hard enough

Here is a what I do when I'm trying to eliminate what the issue can be.

remove the CPU, RAM & disconnect any drives you have connected to the IDE slots.

leaving you with only the video card installed and the mainboard hooked up to the power supply.

Now power on you system and if you don't get a post screen the issues is you video card (assuming the mainboard is good since you replaced it once already).

Now if you do get the post screen on the monitor then power off your system & install the CPU then power it on to see if you get the POST screen again, if that works then turn it off again then put the ram back in and boot it back up to see if you get the post screen again.

That will help you pin point if it's the Video card or CPU or RAM.

yaaa gonna try this as well....cause my comp is having problems booting up as well; but it just started acting up recently...thanks. ++

If your motherboard has onboard video and you can see the post screen then you may need to disable the onboard video before the add on card will display properly.

Same thing happend to me.

That is my graphics card.

Wow thanks for all the great advice everybody! I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out now.

Unfortunately I have class in 40 min. and then I get to move to a new apartment so that'll probably take all day. Hopefully someone will have an open wireless internet in the new apartment or I'll have to wait for Comcast to come by and install my internet. I'll try all this as soon as I get time.

Thank you everyone very much for your help! I was stressed out like a mofo after the second mobo didn't work, but now I'm calm. Now I don't need to rely on Yoga to simmer down =P

Well that board doesn't have on board video but you might want to double check your manual and make sure you have your video card in the PCIe x16 slot and not in one of the PCIe X1 slots.

It's not capable of fitting into the non 16x slots, and there's only one 16x slot.
Yeah...okay don't know what I was thinking there.

Does that card have two vga connectors (for dual monitor)? if it does try plugging it into the other connenctor.

Edit: scratch that, I just looked at it and it only has one vga connetor.

Does that card have a 4pin or 6pin power cable that needs to hook up directly to the PSU? I know the x1900 does but not sure about the x1600.

no, I dont belive the x1600 has the auxilary connector.

you should try an nvidia card, it could be a bios issue.
