Three or four years ago, I finally got a new computer. Put everything together, bring it down to my room.

Tried to start it.
No power.

Made sure the cables are all connected, boot it up.
No power.

Test 5 different power cables.
Nothing.

Try 10 different power bars.
Getting angry.

Open up my computer and realize I somehow managed to drop one of the PCI slot protectors on my video card and leave it there. Computer boots up. WTF?

2 months ago I some how fucked up my LAMP installation on my Ubuntu desktop, and I didn't know how to fix it [I do now]. I was just trying to reinstall the default apache configuration files. What ended up happening was me removing pretty much every package on my system, including my www folder with all my php code in it and totally bricking my box [as one of the packages was gnome]. Luckily I hadn't done much coding since my last backup so I only lost a couple hours of work, and a couple hours re-installing, updating, and moving my backup files over. Remember kids, when it says your going to remove a few hundred packages, believe it!

Now I got it set up so that I can't wipe all my important data out again. Lesson learned.

When i first decided i wanted to figure out how to build a website. I got frontpage opened it up and thought for a bit about what i wanted to make. I decided I wanted to make a search engine so I inserted a form put in a textbox and a button. I labeled the button Search. Then I saved it and opened it up in netscape.

*type* *click*
refresh
*type type* *click*
reopened frontpage and played around with the search button settings for a bit. Saved
*type type type* *click*
Went to a search engine and stole their logo and put it above the search box.

WHY THE FUCK ISN'T THIS WORKING!?!

Bahahaha.

I had a woman call in at work the other day asking how to use the online WYSIWYG site builder to make a site like monster.com. Took me twenty minutes to convince her that, no, not every site on the Internet is designed with sitebuilder.

Actual "support" call I got at a former job (We made web pages, not support.. I was just being nice to the caller)

Caller: "I need to put a page on the internet."
me: "OK, can we help you design the pages, or...?"
Caller "No, I programmed all the pages already, I need to put them on the internet."
me: "Ah.. ok, so you need webspace, we can offer you some hosting or..:"
Caller (cutting me off) "No I don't need that, just tell me what I need to put it onto the internet"
me "err.. well, if you have hosting space with a hosting company, you need to upload the files via FTP to.."
Caller (again cutting me off) "FTP? What is that? I don't need that!"
me "agh.. err... Yes, you do. There are great freeware FTP programs as well, so all you need to do is upload you files to ..."
Caller "No, I don't need any FTP program, you are lying to me!"
me (WTF? Also put the guy on speakerphone, so everyone is grinning and listening) "As a matter of fact, you do."
Caller "No I do not, you are lying, I don't need any FTP software! Just tell me how to put my pages on the internet!"
me "I have been doing this for a few years, and you will need webspace and an FTP in order to upload.."
Caller "No I do not! I have read ALL THE BOOKS ON HTML! I HAVE PROGRAMMED MY PAGES! I DO NOT NEED FTP SOFTWARE! NO BOOK TALKS ABOUT THIS!"
me: "Well, good luck, then."

First attempt at PPC with G Adwords. Put in a long couple weeks of research, clocked 20 hour days, felt pretty confident, all angles covered.

Had the 1st campaign running for a couple days, analyzed the hell out of everything and went to make adjustments on my bids.... did so and then called it a night, crashed in exhaustion....

Woke up the next day, logged in to see how the improvements were coming along.....

Forgot to add the decimal point in the bid which I wanted to be .25 ended up I was bidding 25.00 ... lost a small bundle of dough in my sleep over that stupid shit.....

lesson: don't do ppc on lack of sleep...

Lol! I did that too when I was first starting w/ PPC. I think I lost like $1,500 overnight. All the volume came from broad ass keywords I shouldn't of even been bidding on in the first place. <facepalm>

Me too, I was duplicating a campaign on myspace at around 4am lying on the couch with laptop...I remember the cursor being in the bid box...next thing I woke up like 5 hours later with the laptop still sitting on me to find I'd managed to set the bid to $30 a click and submit :ugone2far: Luckily I only got 3 clicks...

My bigger better effort was setting up a campaign on adwords, bidding a little high to get ctr up, falling asleep and waking up later minus $2,000 (That campaign was obviously a real win, lol).

LOL!

That's because you did it in FrontPage. FrontPage sucks, you should've tried Dreamweaver.

I would appreciate it if you would stop talking about my life. k.

Exactly the same all the way down to the age and even specific job industry.
