Boycott monster energy drinks



Dude seems pretty cool, too bad he can't keep his name. I'm not too sure what the legalities of his name are, it IS pretty similar to Monster, but that appeal system seems like the scam of all scams. There are so many problems with our legal system, this is just one small aspect of it.
 
Monster tastes like crap anyway, like you needed a reason not to drink it. I've had a few of the beers from Rock Art, very good. I wonder what kind of premium bottles of Vermonster will go for now in the Microbrew Trade World....not kidding.

Agree on this. He's so passionate about it - he even looks close to tears at some points, but it's clearly a very clever marketing angle at the same time. How many of us will remember that digeridoo guy logo after seeing the video and associate it with a beer from vermont that fought monster.
 
Monster is being assholes but they are protecting a possible sideline. They might get into beer with supplements or something. They think they need to smash anyone that gets near them.

OMG, when did they let people trademark basic words like.. Windows, Apple and Orange?

I feel sorry for this guy and Monster sucks. However if he is going to waste time and money fighting this, after he already knows what he's up against, I have zero sympathy for him.
 
I would love to actually read the C&D letter and see how Monter's attorneys extrapolate a "likelihood of confusion" between Monster energy drinks and Vermontster Micro-brewed beer with a very small distribution range. That has got to be a legal STRETCH if ever there was one. Nevermind that the logos, slogan, etc. are nothing alike.

On the other hand- this is a Miniature Golf place I've seen out by Pittsburgh that appears to all but COPY Monster's logo. No C&D for them? Welcome to Monster Mini Golf

Yea Monster is just being a dick because they can. Thanks to the power of the internet this guy's case can go viral and people can take action.

I'm guessing they are the mini golf that Monster Cables sued.
