Seasteading projects have been mentioned on here before, but yesterday Blueseed got quite a bit coverage. Not just from tech sites either, as the HuffingtonPost also had an article.

This is another project involving Peter Thiel, the openly gay billionaire libertarian who co-founded paypal.

If I made gazillions every minute, I won't mind setting up an office there. Flying in every few months to discuss potential investments.

I'm only worried about Piracy. (Not the digital kind.) Even Blueseed and it's tiny boat off silicon valley could present a tasty, unarmed treat to pirates who plan an attack well, since it's technically international waters.

If someone comes up to a solution to Piracy, I'm happy spending the rest of my life on an AnCap seastead.

lol at the second highest interest from India... Merica, here we come!!!

Expect more jobs to go

Blueseed FAQ

pirates - they don't exist near California to begin with, they have much better targets (cargo ships, for instance, with little personnel and a lot of cargo already packaged for resale), and they would much rather not deal with the U.S. Navy or the U.S. Coast Guard.
