Blogsense Review Please?

I'm a little puzzled.

Seems like Adbox has been working for almost 2 years to develop what looks like an amazing piece of software, with improvement after improvement after improvement....

And there must be customers, but I don't see even one review that's longer than a sentence. Or any testimonials.

It would be really helpful if a few of the people who are using this software -- there must be a bunch of people, no? -- write a few paragraphs about their experience with it.

Adsense, can you get a few customers to drop a review or two into this thread?

Tnx

I've a couple of good ones on the sales page. And some are spread out across BHW, Warrior Forum, WPBH; but here is a good one found on the Autoblog Blueprint Forum. I like it a lot and think it's a fair representation of the impression I hope BlogSense to make.

But for the most part BlogSense is an under-employed software. The complaints some might have against it is that it focuses on RSS mainly, with masterful specialties in Drop Posting, CSV, Amazon, Youtube, and Yahoo Answers. But many want a keyword-list based automation software that auto-generates mixed content to easily capitalize on untapped niches. For this WP Robot still has a better setup. But when it comes to quality control and news-curation style sites, as well as suplimenting blogs with Amazon Reviews or building Yahoo Answer based sites, or custom csv affiliate sites or supplimenting your site with youtube content, or building you own remote publishing link network, or supplimenting your automated posts with WPTweetBomb style bookmarking.... BlogSense wins hands down.

Really all I have to do is build a keyword-list-based module to satisfy what lacks, but impo WP Robot, phpBay, and other shortcode softwares will still be needed to compliment this module.

Anyway here is my favorite review so far:

Thanks for this thread.

I just wanted to add my penny's worth here. First, I'm not much of an autoblogger, I generally write my own content or else I personally rewrite other people's content. I wanted to expand this year, hence I got hold of ABB 3 in the hope that I might find some good automation tips. And I have done.

One way in which I have used scrapers and automators in the past is to do my research for me. So I run a scraper, pass it through my own formatting and rewrite it to make it original. It's faster than writing from the ground up but still too slow. I tried WP Robot but just can't get on with it. I find the interface totally uninuitive, the settings a bit of a mystery and the results mostly disappointing. But the killer for me is the lack of proper moderation. Last time I tried WP Robot it was still using tokens which meant there was no way of editing or rewriting content before it hit my blog. That alone rules it out for me, but the interface etc are the final nails. Don't get me wrong, I want it to work for me - it could save me hours - but I want to be able to edit.

So I'm hanging out here, reading up on some other stuff . I just got Web Traffic Genius through one of Mike's emails and I am very pleased with it. Then I see this thing called 'Blogsense' which I'd never heard of before. I've been around the forums a few years now so it surprised me that I hadn't heard of it. So I do a search and find a few other mentions here and there but not much to go on. I visit the site and there is a bunch of features, but again, not enough to make me want to dedicate time and funds to. What has really interested me is the claim that it can do a similar job to WP Robot, but it also allows editing content prior to posting. That's my 'golden chalice'.

I see the coupon on this site, but it's still $95 I wasn't planning on spending, so I finally figure I'd 'trial' it at $10 (the monthly price) and get some hands on experience - if it really can compete with WP Robot.

One 'complaint' that comes up often with Blogsense is that it is 'geeky' and not very user friendly. So when I downloaded the file and unzipped it, and read the very short installation instructions I got worried. I assumed it would be one of those products with minimal documentation and a lot of room for error. But I followed the instructions and was pleased to find that it all installed perfectly first time and without any hint of a glitch. I didn't even have to set up a cron!

And, to be honest, it has been like that throughout. I much prefer the interface to WP Robot. For me, it makes sense and is very intuitive. No messing around in the WP admin, is perfect. I was worried about documentation and the multiple videos but if you watch them, they are quite clear. And they are only multiple because they are done with Jing and that only allows short movies - which, in my view, is preferable to achingly long ones, anyway!

And within the first few instructional vids I watched, I saw how to moderate and edit content. Perfect. But not only that, how to mash up, spin, edit, and a ton more. This is a fantastic tool. And I don't understand the accusations of geekiness or complicated usage. It all seems fairly straight forward to me, especially when compared to WP Robot, which leaves you totally blind most of the time.

So from my point of view when it comes to WP Robot vs Blogsense, then Blogsense wins hands down. With that said, I might now consider WP Robot if I can 'manage' it via Blogsense. If I had to choose between the two it would certainly be (in fact it is) Blogsense, but maybe next month I will purchase WP Robot to work alongside it.

It may be that the reason I find it a bit simpler than others is that I have tried and tested and tried again just about every web scraper out there. And a few that are way out there. And Blogsense feels more like a scraper than WP Robot does. Maybe it's an interface thing. Maybe it's some other perception of mine which has no basis in reality, but this is a tool I can use, will use, am using. And at $10 a month, or with the reduction on this forum for $95 (or something) this is also a great price.

And just so you know, I don't know any of these guys, this is just me, excited, because I finally got the automation tool I was looking for. Thanks to Hudson, and thanks to Mike for the forum on which I found it.

By the way, Web Traffic Genius is awesome too!

API ACCESS TO THE SPIN DATABASE
We can now use a script to send content to the BlogSense to have it spun and returned ( just like the TBS api). But in addition we can also access this script manually and use it to paste&spin content on the fly. More information here: ‪BlogSense Tips - Using the Internal Spinner as an API. Logging Remote Publishing URLs‬‏ - YouTube

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE REMOTE PUBLISHING API
The BlogSense remote publishing API now accepts the following parameters:

  • post_type
  • cat_id (now accepts a slug as well as an id, and if the remote blog detects that there is no category for the slug indicated it will attempt to auto-create it).

REMOTE PUBLISHING URL REPORT
If you are using BlogSense API’s to publish to remote BlogSense sites, we now keep logs of the remote pages created through these APIs. This is to help those who are using BlogSense to create a remote publishing network to keep track of their backlink. This feature can be found at: BlogSense->Toolbox->Miscellaneous Tools-> Access Remote Publishing Logs

DRAFTED POSTS AND BOOKMARKING
Until now it has gone unnoticed that posts set into ‘draft’ or ‘pending_review’ mode were being exempted from any bookmarking. This has been corrected.

CONTROLLING THE POST TYPE

Our automation/autoblogging platform can now control the post_type of campaigns, setting them to posts, pages, or any other custom post_type available.

ALRIGHT! THAT’S ALL IN THIS RELEASE!

I’ve a couple of more major things I would like to do including designing and implementing a keyword-list based module similar to the designs of WP Robot and WPTB. For a long time we have focused on RSS and custom sources and bookmarking, which cover a wide array of applications, but it’s about time to take a shot at a keyword based module. We’ll see how it goes.

For those of you who aren’t WP Traffic Tool users yet check it out at (http://www.wptraffictools.com).

Attention BlogSense!

For the longest time the difference between BlogSense and other commercial available automation programs has been that the other’s were powered by keyword lists, where as BlogSense focused on everything else in the world of automation but this (I originally didn’t want to re-invent the wheel and risk appearing as a WP Robot copy cat).

But as I’ve grown as a marketer I’ve seen the value in having such an option and have seen how it can help quickly generate and target content at the same time.

BlogSense now has a keyword list powered automation module making BlogSense the most comprehensive autoblogger on the internet to date.

There is a catch though; rather a weakness. BlogSense is still not a strong provider of content generation shortcodes. We have a couple, but not many. Because of this I recommend using other software’s shortcodes, such as WP Robot’s or WP Mage’s should help perfect any shortcomings inherent in BlogSense to make BlogSense to perfect automation system.

Here is a video introduction to the latest addition:

Use Keywords from WP Traffic Tools or Rank Tracker to power Automation – New Shortcodes! – List Management Tools

This latest release is a pretty big one. Lets take a look!

New Shortcodes!

We’ve never had any good article shortcodes, but now we do! We’ve added the following shortcodes to the BlogSense arsenal.

  1. Knol.Google.com
  2. Articlebase
  3. Ezine (may require proxies)
  4. Yahoo’s AssociatedContent.

Use Organic Traffic to Power Keywords Module.

If you use WP Traffic Tools or the  Rank Tracker Plugin then your organic keyword traffic is being recorded in your database. Use this traffic to automatically generate content targeting your natural long tail keywords. With this feature you can build a highly targeted blog that focuses on you long-tail keywords without having to do the research yourself. This is a viral application of autoblogging. I’m interested to see what can be done with Hopefully the features sell themselves.

Other Cool New Features

  1. Manually edit script timeout setting for automation run.
  2. Can now disable duplicate content filters for RSS module (For RSS feeds containing one URL that dynamically updates with new content daily).

Guys, BlogSense is nearing perfection thanks to the help of it’s users+ advisers.

If you have ever been dissatisfied with BlogSense maybe these newest updates will entice you back. We’re not completely done yet though. There is still some minor improvements that are in store, and I’ll try to get some more shortcodes in too. But from here on out I’ll be working on improving WP Traffic Tools and also starting on another project I’m hoping to have released sometime this winter.

Thank you for being a customer, hope you enjoy.
