BidCandy.com Internal Affiliate Program - Advice Wanted

We have a legal team that gives us constant advice. I'm not losing sleep over the FTC in any way. I think if it were as serious as some people like to make it out to be, you wouldn't be seeing a QuiBids commercial on every other channel you flip to.

no disrespect intended but you couldn't be more wrong. they love giving people lots of rope to hang themselves with.

The only thing I can see the FTC doing at the moment is trying to label Penny Auctions as gambling. That won't happen over night.

No, they are going to say that Penny Auctions sites have 'implied', or in the case of your shadier affiliates 'guaranteed', lower prices on items. I'm pretty sure that the hammer is going to come down and its only a matter of when.

Good luck though, I'm definitely not trying to be a downer, just calling it as I see it.

Upfront cash that takes into account the long term value of a customer.

Sort of like EBays ACRU? It's been years and years since I've messed with ebay, but I absolutely loved their ACRU if I remember it correctly it's exactly what you describe. The more value they thought the customer had over the life of the account the more you got paid for it. If it wasn't the ACRU then I forget the exact name of it. If you did that + drop a cookie like they did so if they come back say 3 days later I still get credit for the lead I'd be all over that.

If you did the cookie thing you'd have to figure out how to combat the assholes that would try and ruin it with cookie stuffing, but I'm sure that could be mitigated.

If you did those 2 things and get the offer into some good affiliate networks like a4d you'd be stealing affiliates from other companies like there was no tomorrow.

Cake from what I understand is a great platform and is kicking the crap out of everyone. I've never used it from the admins side, but I'd slightly used it as an affiliate and I liked it a lot. A few decent sized networks are starting to switch to it as well.

I'd look in to any solution that makes sense and feels reasonable for anyone. I am not opposed to test the water with a custom deal as well for affiliates that can 'kill it', so to speak.

What I'm trying to say is, I'm pretty much open to suggestions and idea's at this point that will make sense for both sides and willing to try what ever I need to try to make this work well.

Sorry about that. Guess this website has some bugs.
