That is a little ridiculous. None of the people even live in the US and their operations are completely legit where they are based in the UK or Costa Rica. I see our government is putting its resources to good use scouring flight itineraries for international bookies on connecting flights.

I've never lived under an administration that's so puritan or so vindictive. It's truly amazing what people will put up with.

Im not sure why the US government sees fit to enforce its laws as if they were applicable across international borders.

They know the only way they can affect some curbing of illegal gambling is through fear tactics that scare your every day joe...meanwhile, we all know they could never stop people from online gambling. It's totally impossible. But I love the fact that they feel like they need to tell responsible adults what to do with their time. I guess they want me to drive to the seedy gambling boats that they get a piece of the action on...

This makes no sense. How is it the offshore betting sites problem that people are committing a crime in their own country?

Quadzilla had a long rant about this over at seoblackhat.com, good read.

Government is too damn big...

Government gambling business is ok (lottery) - but private people can't get into the gambling biz??

Disgusts me... Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to let government become our nanny?

Governments bringing charges against offshore criminals is nothing new. People have sued Osama Bin Laden in absentia for example. Spain has had some high-profile cases too.
