Best solution for UK WP-MU hosting?

Posted this in Hosting + Domains, but there was nothing but tumbleweeds there, so reposting here:

I'm looking into setting up a business doing low cost high volume wordpress sites in the UK for a particular niche. WPMU looks like the easiest way to manage deployment/updates.

Anyone got recommendations for a good host? Will need to be UK based. Would Linode be suitable for this?
