well, if you ask me the best language is PHP since it is widely used on most websites over the internet.

There are many points about programming languages, but in terms of web automation I'd reccomend C#

If you have the knowledge of C# then start learning asp.net. You can also make websites using jsp of java. But trust me, asp.net with C# is very dynamic and easy approach because of controls, which asp.net provides.

I agree to a point. For when it comes to developing a website, yeah a lot of people interchange the terms scripting/programming and JS has it's rightful place I don't think anyone would argue that.

I could just be having a bad day - but saying "I hope you don't write software for a living" because someone was factually correct is just dumb.
