I started on the standard $7/month hostmonster.com hosting a few years ago and moved straight to a $100+/month dedicated server with a local company when I started maxing out.

Now my hosting expired on me while I was away, so im looking to get some new hosting. I have never maxed out the dedicated server and do not require so much bandwidth. Also I found the down time to be worse with dedicated.

I do at most 1 million clicks per month, no heavy spikes. and most of my traffic is direct linking passed through my prosper and simple landing pages. no richmedia or video.

any recommendations on how much bandwidth exc I need? and which company to go with? Im thinking something like $30 a month shared or vps should cover me.

Also Is it possible to migrate my prosper with all its data to the new hosting if my old hosting is already down?

unless you have a copy of your prosper database - then no it is not possible to migrate.

use the search function here to find the answer to the hosting question, it has been answered time and time again

yes u need a copy of ur db but if u sign up for beyondhosting.net they will do everything for u and they have the best customer service

thanks for the reply. where would the prosper data base be found. is it with the dedicated server that I had? I just talked to the company I had the dedicated server with and it seems the server was still active but they turned it off during the call?!? im not sure what I would need to do to get a copy of the database...

as for the vps it seems knownhost.com has a pretty good deal.
RAM 768 MB
RAID-10 Disk Space 40 GB
Premium Bandwidth 2000 GB
fully managed for $28/month with the coupon code under special deals.
and it looks like they charge +$5 a month for a control panel.. is this needed? and do you think this would be adequate power for what my traffic is?

Well I myself use few of the biggest hostings out there. And I must admit I resentlly found pandela hosting to be one of the top out their. They are very helpfull and their speed is awesome.

ok I got a deal with a local company

Cloud Server
1GB of ram
40Gig of HD space
Cpanel unlimited
1 ip
at 350$/yr.

any opinions if this is worth the price and if this is enough to support my usage?
