Forget Hawkhost, they had problems resolving the DNS from my registrar, and wouldnt admit it. They also post fake reviews of themselves all over the net. If you look hard enough, you'll find the same posting across a few forums word for word.

I had minor issues at Hawkhost. I had them for the year, and then moved to Downtown Host. Mainly because they had a good coupon. I haven't had any problems, their customer services does pretty well. I really like that look of Digital Ocean.

I would say try to look for resellers on reputable hosts if you want cheap hosting. Like people having reseller package on Hostgator or Bluehost. Much safer and still cheap.

Time to start considering faster SSD (solid state drive) shared hosting options. The "old" network drive hosts like blue and gator simply don't compare to a good cPanel SSD hosting solution. Maybe time to catch the future of shared hosting and drop the old SATA and networked drives hosts for good. Google "SSD High Speed Hosting" for lists of hosts.

hands down digitalocean.com for cloud SSD VPS - $5 per month for 512 MB RAM VPS. i used to run on vps.net but switched everything to this.

i find it alot cheaper and easier to deal with than Amazon EC2.

compare any other host's 512 MB per month, and it will be at least $20-30
