On a personal note i would not invest in .ASIA, it seems companies are only registering .ASIA names to protect their brand names rather than wanting to use it, which makes sense.

Why would someone in India use .ASIA when they could use .IN, the same goes for .EU names why would a company want to use .EU when they can use .co.uk or in Germany use .DE etc.

This is my thoughts on .ASIA and why i would not invest in the name.

Any others for or against .ASIA ?

One more thing i would like to add, the only names that would be worth registering would be generic names like sex.asia etc, if you decide to register any of these names then be prepared to go to auction and pay a ridiculous amount to get the name and which in all probability will not be worth it, for instance in the .eu landrush 224 people tried to register sex.eu....it will be the same for .asia.

So if you have registered a generic name like this thinking you may possibly get it for the reg fee then guess again....

There will also be queues for names like euthan.asia...sad but true.

True. I am an Indian, not an Asian. Also, I talked a fair bit to Edmon during ICANN New Delhi and the whole thing didn't give me a good vibe.
