Backing out of a lease before moving in?

Good news. The owner of the place is putting everything back the way it was before I move in. He claims he was going to do it all along, I just happened to visit the condo to take some measurements before he could do it...

Not sure if I believe him. But I'm happy now.

He is lying to you. Do not hand over money until it is in writing. Once you take occupancy, you're pretty much accepting things as they are unless it's in writing that it'll get fixed/replaced.

Get it in writing. You will both be happier.

I went by the place tonight. Maintenance was in the process of moving everything back in and fixing up the screw ups. I also have the option to take another condo instead if I don't find this one satisfactory tomorrow.

I don't move in until Thursday.
