Audio headset recommendations?

Personally, I go with the Audio-Technica ATM-M50s. Cleanest sound I've ever heard. And decently noise canceling (although Bose's noise canceling is a bit better IMO).

Those Audio-Technica headphones do not have noise cancellation. Studio monitors don't usually have noise cancellation as a feature. As they are over the ear closed back phones, they offer great isolation without needing noise cancelling. Same with the Sony ones I mentioned. The nature of their design blocks out almost all other noise without the need for gimicky solutions.

To be honest, unless you're riding the train or bus every day, you don't need noise cancellation, especially in an over the ear closed back design. You certainly don't need it if you're mostly just using them in front of your computer while sat at home.

MY suggestion:- Stay away from SkullCandy, design is great but build quality and material used is very bad, you will regret using it 2 days later. I prefer Sony or Phillips for quality and value.

Even though I don't game I tend to buy stuff marketed to gamers. Mouse, keyboard etc. Seems to be higher quality and more durable than what's pushed to the typical computer user.

Razer Electra Gaming Headphones - Music & Gaming Headphone - Razer United States

Paid under $50 for that headset and I can't complain. They fold nicely and take a beating in my carry on. I use to use ear buds on planes, never again. Hardly need to turn up the volume with these to comfortably listen while flying.

You need better earphones then man. In ear ones like these SE Earphones | Earphones & Headphones | Shure Americas block out almost all external noise because they go in your ear canal and the silicone tips makes a nice seal. I much prefer these than big bulky headphones on the plane. Their top of the line 3 driver models are about $500, but even the single driver models in the $100-$200 range sound really good.
