ASW, Where Are You Staying?

Thanks for all the input guys. I have read some bad reviews on Rio, and I hope to god they don't stick me in a smoking room as some of the reviews suggested, but I found a coupon code here at WF that saved me about $200 on it, so I guess I can't complain.

If this wasn't our first time going I probably would have been more willing to experiment with staying somewhere else. The Palms was definitely tempting though.

Look forward to seeing everybody.

lots of good deals and great places to stay in vegas but i always suggest staying at the same hotel as the show ---so RIO for sure. Chris R here at Motive found a crazy deal for rooms at the RIO just a few weeks ago. Send a PM or contact Chris R at Motive - we will give you the heads up on a great deal if it is still open.

Palms is probably as nice as you will get if you're going to be looking for a hotel that's close. Otherwise consider yourself fucked with a disgusting room.

I am booked at the Rio, but just found out a classmate of mine is a wedding coordinator over at the Wynn... hmmm.... to whore myself out for a comp and save $500, or keep my dignity and spend my cash?

booked at the Bellagio right now, was ridiculously cheap, and seeing you only need to be at the Rio for the floor itself, and the majority of things are on the strip, seems a better choice.

i'd do that.....stay at the Encore (the new Wynn hotel next door) if you can.

its nice staying in the same hotel as the show, but honestly its not a big deal. its not like you have any need to go running up to the room multiple times per day.

Im at the Rio. I hear its off the beaten path, so staying anywhere else would require a cab ride everyday.

you're probably going to take a taxi several times anyway as there is a lot to do in vegas outside of your hotel.

note - the Rio has a free shuttle that runs between it and Harrah's right on the strip. that puts you very close to the Mirage, Caesars, Venetian, Wynn, etc.

i totally disagree. nothing wrong with the Rio - i've stayed there several times myself and for the right prices (cheap) i would. but for those worrying about staying elsewhere personally i would not.

I would be staying at the Wyndham Hotel. Was thinking about staying at the Rio but heard bad reviews also. I am also not to far from the strip.

They stuck us in a smoking room and I was pregnant at the time so it was pretty bad trying to sleep. Ug. They wouldn't move us either. Laura was sweet though and had them attempt to neutralizer the smokiness before I got there. Not sure it worked much but she swears it was worse.

The HOTEL at Mandalay Bay FTW.

Taxis are pretty cheap and everything is 15 minutes away. There will be a cab line at times so that might make it a hassle but overall I don't find it to be a big deal.

I've stayed at the Rio and while its not luxurious it definitely isn't a shithole. Its better than 95% of hotels outside of Vegas I would bet. If you use your room essentially as a pitstop for showers and for storing your luggage then I would stay at the Rio. If you actually plan on sleeping and being in your room alot then it might make sense to book elsewhere. I'm normally so trashed at these things that I could sleep on a soiled mattress and not realize it until I wake up (or maybe I was the one who soiled it?)

I was going to stay at some castle deal with Yukes and some chicks, but they are going to the Palms, and since I was told that cabbing it to and from the Rio is a pain in the ass, I decided to stay at the crappy Rio, also lots of friends are going to be there too, so who cares in the end. I don't do much sleeping anyway. I think I'm going to stay at the Venetian for the last day just because I've always wanted to stay there and get some spa treatment going on when the show is over. Vegas overall is not my favorite town, but theres nothing to be ashamed of for staying at the Rio, because I can name some of the biggest affs in the biz staying there too. I'm lazy, so Rio it is, plus at $159/night its worth it for showers and baggage storage alone.

Rio unfortunately. I did the Palazzo for ASW this year, which is undoubtedly better, but having to cab it each time sucked major ass.

Though as others mentioned, you don't spend too much time in your room anyway. Ah well.
