That people believe in this stuff scares me more than the possibility of such an event occurring. There is no reason behind fervent belief in the rapture.

I don't know what icon to assign this thread, I'll leave the trouble of that up to someone else. haha

Salvation. What a niche!
 
All I can say is wow.
As a christian, that video was kind of embarassing. Those of you who appose religion just please understand the difference between a religious person and a religious finatic and realize we normal christians hate them just as much as you do. Yet they claim to represent us cus the rest of us are "too weak in faith" to do it ourselves. How fucked is that?

Indeed. I don't oppose religion as I have a Christian background and found it to be a net positive, but these people ARE becoming the normal Christians. The Pentecostals and Evangelicals are the fastest growing segments of religion in the US and now make up a sizable portion of Christians. I'm not sure what the Southern Baptists believe, but if I recall correctly, they are rapture-ready as well. It's discouraging that the nuts get so much airtime. It's probably just because of the nature of a fundamentalist, they are so driven to drill their nonsense into other's heads that they appear to be the majority, they are doing all of the talking.
