Are blogs being overdone?

Do you think that blogs are too common now? Everyone and their dog has a blog today. Do you think there is any room left for blogs or is the next "big thing" due to hit?

Quality blogs are NOT being overdone. Most are either SPLOGS or BORING rewrite blogs trying to snag PPC revenue. There will always be space for QUALITY.

When you come right down to it, blogs are just really easy to update web sites. So I think they'll always be around.

Exactly. Until a better CMS comes around. Right now, WP is looking very hard to top since there's countless plugins for it.

It's a content management system... Manages content. But hey, I agree to disagree

I don't know, Wordpress is a lot more powerful than you probably think. It can serve a static website just as well as a blog.

Joomla rocks my socks when it comes to a CMS. I guess there is more to word press. One day I'll look into it more

I don't think blogs will be overdone until they're truly mainstream, and strangely they're still not! I had a client (who is actually quite net savvy) ask me what a blog was, as he'd never seen one.

Yeah, I talk to people all the time who don't know what they are. What's funny is that some of them read several blogs though, they just think of them as another website.

Ive heard Joomala and other 'true' CMS's are very bloated.

Becasue the blogging software is so eay to install and use, they are now a long way from the original blog idea of an online journal.

Hopefully, their simplicity will influence a new breed of CMS

I don't think joomla is bloated (can you tell I'm a fanboy?)

10mb at it's most basic. Considering the functionality in there, I think that's pretty light weight
