arcade sites still profitable?

and i also use the "shitty" script that 1000000 people have, and it works great for me. Its all who you target, at least thats what i have found works best.

and a shitty script to someone might be the worlds best script to someone else, just look at some peoples myspace accounts, hoorible yet they love it, the same goes with anything else, just because its not good to you, does not mean its not good in the eyes of someone else.

Point noted. Any good script can be shitty when in the wrong hands, and on the flip side any shitty script can be gold when put in the hands of the right person. It depends on what you do with it as a webmaster. If you just throw up a default install and hope it becomes the next MiniClip, you're missing something. But if you strive for the unique user experience, then it doesn't matter what script you are using.

gaming sites

I own mygamingspace.com and I have noticed a few things about gaming sites. With Google i was getting around 1-3 cents per click, getting killed by MFA sites. I switched to yahoo and get $3 bucks per click now. Yes you heard right 3 dollar PER click. Although I get a fraction of the amount of click i had with google, I am making about 10 times more money per day. I was thinking about trying chitika ads because I will be losing Yahoo soon. Any advice on other adnetworks to use besides yahoo and google?

I'm opening an arcade website soon. It will be totally different than any other arcade website online right now as far as I can tell. Will be targeting older audiences as well as younger people. Should do well. Probably will not run adsense on it, but trying to think of what might work with my concept

I had an arcade up before making around 10.00 per day from 1,000 or so impressions with adsense. this was a LONG time ago.

Here we go... Just threw my arcade site up the other day...

eGameArcade.com-

I used a descriptive domain that I bought which receives traffic already. Site gets around 500 uniques/day, uses Adsense and AdBrite...

Doesn't make jack diddly yet though. I'm just waiting for my YPN app to get accepted. :/

You have shitty ad placement, that's why.

Integrate the ads with the arcade thumbnails using various rectangle formats. No leader boards of scrapers.

As far as I know, the recent Google TOS now prohibit and discourage this practice? The only sites I see doing it anymore are YPN.

Google's TOS states something along the lines of whatever picture/thumbnail is next to the ads, MUST be similar to what the ads destination will be.

Unfortunately, I don't want to risk being banned for someone clicking an arcade game thumbnail and going to a mortgage site.

Under the link that says

All Action / Adventure

put a leaderboard or two large rectangles. You want your visitors to see the ads and you can do this without having to place them adjacent to puctures. Just place the ads under them in a separate row.

Also make sure you apply to Yahoo Publisher.

Alright, I will go ahead and apply this change later today. It will take a week or so before I have results, because my traffic isn't quite up to speed and I cannot notice changes in under 24 hours like the bigger arcades.

Also make sure you apply to Yahoo Publisher.

I already applied, twice. Never heard back. Any advice on this? Haha.
