Anyone using the "Turbo Charged Road Runner" service. Was wondering if there was a significant speed increase and if worth the extra $9.95/mo. Any hardware changes required? Their website isn't real specific.
 


Haven't heard of "Turbo Charged Road Runner", but I know they offer a Premium service for about $30 more around here. If you are downloading a lot of files, or if you play games online it might be worth it. Call them up, it should be just a change they make on their end.

Or you could just get fios...
 
I have roadrunner and it fucking blows. But, where I live, it's the only option for high speed internet so I don't have a choice. I'm already wasting $50/mo on crappy service as it is, I would never even consider upgrading for another $10, but hey, that's just me.

Their customer support sucks, my connection fades in and out constantly, and sometimes I just can't get online at all for hours at a time. FUCK ROADRUNNER.
 
RoadRunner is basically a franchised system - RR here in Central NC is run differently from RR in New York or Ohio.

Can you just ask them what the speed is for turbo? Here in central NC, the standard service is 5M down / 384Kbps up. You can upgrade to 8M.
