hi there. I found a medical niche that seems like it could be doing very well.
Now, in using images, what direction do I go?

The topic is a serious and, ultimately deadly illness.

So I do not know what images to use on the site... happy faces, medical instruments, medical personell?

That is one thing I'd never do, make a mfa site for something as serious as a deadly disease. It's one thing if you are actually going to put together a decent site with legit information that will help out the community but I could never bring myself to make a "spammy" site that will dupe some fucking cancer patient into clicking my ads.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you not to do it, I just couldn't do it myself.

I have around 30 medical-centric (serious* and less serious diseases) sites, I don't use any images outside of diagrams.

* I have never made a site for a terminal disease.

There certainly are medical topics that can be done in a useful way. The ones I have build I repeatedly say -- consult your doctor; just the same as anytime I talk about a legal issue. The fact is you can go to two doctors and both will tell you something different. Whatever you do, I think you are obligated not to do a slop job with medical sites, at least do some real research.

Actually, I am not going to do a slop job. At first I was just searching for a niche, and then it hit me that the info out there needs to be better.

If I earn a few $$$ along the way, so what?

I've got a few medical sites, and I do shitloads of research before I write my stuff. When it comes to some conditions, you really dont wanna be dishing out advice thats not accurate. Theres no reason why you shouldnt go for it though, if your site has good information and helps people why not make some good money from it? That's just like saying doctors shouldn't charge for advice and consultations...

The medical sites I have deal with shit that I've had to go through first hand. While it's not cancer or anything like that, it deals with some semi-serious stuff. The sites do quite well and I get an e-mail every now and then of someone who used the information on my site and it has benefitted them greatly. I would just research as much as possible. I personally couldn't do a terminal illness site regardless if I ever had one or not though.

See I have been thinking of getting into the same field, I have to dedicate an hour to finding that perfect domain name on GoDaddy sometime this week..

There have been some talk on DP Forums I think (or was it Webmaster World) about the medical field.

But then again I remembered last year a couple of people were roused up about this and said it was going to be a great niche, but I have no idea now...
