he is risking his account as it is usually not allowed to post links and url's in your advertisement. ebay is pretty strict on this, and everybody who had to re-instantiate a banned account knows, that this is a pain in the ass.
so, i am staying strictly whitehat on ebay now, as i had my account banned for 5 consecutive times (i was never frauding people though! just gaming the system to place my links to outside-of-ebay offers).
one thing i kind of successfully did was to place offers for mfa-sites. you know, those sites that people sell to those poor mofo's that can't get it programmed themselves
well, my intention though was never to sell the site, but to get 150-200 clicks for $1 in total, which was the money it did cost me to list this offer.
as lot of people actually surf ebay to buy sites, they click your site and they click your ads. ebay however doesn't like this very much, and will eventually ban your account if you play this too hard
at the moment being i am setting up another kind of ebay offer which is coming from a totally different direction, but you should get the clue, when i say "incentivized"
