Another Quit My Job Thread

+rep post of the century. BTW the part about having a regular job, well...

I have a very flexible job pretty much make my own schedule and no bullshit when I started giving myself more free time to work on my biz I had a very hard time being productive for long periods of time.

I went back to working my normal hours because even though it gave me less time to work, I get super annoyed/pissed off/irritated at work and then I come home and grind like a motherfucker because working a shitty job is one of the only things that really lights a fire under my ass.

Has anyone else experienced this?

so, so true.

sometimes when you're secluded at home you forget about all the opportunities you have. you just gotta get outside and look at all the other shitty walks of life, and then you'll be motivated.

You need to get yourself an office instead of a home, and hire some employees (or contractors). Having a formal office (place to work) and some employees to manage will put pressure on you to play at a higher level.

mid-20s crisis? are you fucking serious? just jack off and do some weed and youll be fine. there is no such thing as a mid-20s crisis.

just cause you making min wage and friends are not, is no way to degrade yourself. I was making min in my 20's as well for a while ( early ).

also, if you dont have at least 6 months savings PLUS some tucked away cash to do this.. then your most likely gonna fail unless your that 1% that is lucky, smart, or just wont be outworked. You better hope your the guy that cant be outworked.

This.

Don't quit your job till you have money saved. You can still grind away when you work full time, I used to study full time and work 35 hours at a regular job and I still found a way to do 2-3 hours of IM every day.

You better hope you get a whole lot less lazy quickly.

if you really think you can't have days off... you're doing it wrong

the idea of working for yourself also includes having free time... not sitting in front of a computer 24/7

@op ... 100 a day... damn that's very low... but a good starting point... personally I don't think its a good idea to quit without having made some "steady" income online...
I disagree,
If this guy wants to be serious and quit his job, then he needs to strap down and at the minimum, do 4 hours on his off days because I know he'll probably get stuck with info overload or whatever other excuses(youtube, youporn, facebook, wickedfire, etc etc etc)

Even on my days off(1-2 times a week), I still work on projects a few hours just to make sure money is building and building.

If he sticks with it, he'll have success but we all know good things don't last forever, so he needs to be constantly creating new sources unless he is cool with the unstable ~$100/day

I am 24 and own an insurance agency. I got into this whole IM marketing when I got sold by some local computer people who suggested I have a website built. They charged me $900 for some cheap ass website with garbage content and nothing optimized for seo. At that time i did not know better. My first goal once I realized the potential was to conquer my little google maps region. Lol after months and months trying to figure that bitch out, I got it. Then I spent more money experimenting and expanding my website with more junky content that was not optimized for seo trying to get long tails.

Then I came across affiliate marketing which sounded great. Spent another 3k on 3 more shity websites with no optimization to them. Paid another $1400 per site per month ($4500) for 3 months with an seo company claiming they could optimize my sites and get me where I needed to be. For $1400 first month all they did was change my H1 tags and other bullshit here and there. Second month for $1400 submit my site to 300 directories. BIG WUP! Needless to say for the amount of money I was paying attention and picked up as much knowledge as I could. Once I learned, I started experimenting and creating more and more and more sites. Had almost 15+ sites and none were really successful. Tried this, tried that, had success, got screwed by google, had some success then sandboxed again... Also not only would it fuck me over but would also screw my insurance agency and the people who worked for me since a lot of business was driven this way.

The point I want to make here is, I have a budget to back me up with to learn and experiment. Its lots and lots of trial and error. Even when you make it you must have another site to back you up when you get screwed by the search engines.

Good luck! Its hard work and takes MONEY!!!!! MOTHER FUCKER!!!!! Im just starting to get a good taste of the IM money now, and I still continue to spend my business budget on this and every penny I make myself because I know the goal I want to meet. NO FUCKING CLUB MONEY FOR ME!

P.s. this is just the money I spent on seo. I also tried to conquer adwords and blew a fucking hell of a lot of money with that......

Do you live with your parents? How could you manage to not be homeless being such a fucking lazy bastard?

BTW, I'm 28, have a wife, kid, and multiple businesses. I battled crippling anxiety, depression, and losing my ass financially after a company collapsed, hence why I'm doing IM. I didn't boo-hoo and piss and moan about my friends being more successful than me. I just grabbed my ballsack and went to work. Got a job doing shit I don't like doing, because I HAVE A FAMILY TO FEED.

Working a regular job SUCKS, but you have to do it if you have mouths to feed. Tired? FUCK YOU TIRED. Talk to a single Mom and see how it feels to raise kids AND work 2 jobs just to barely make ends meet... But she works her ass off to make sure she doesn't mooch off food stamps and welfare.

Think you're gonna take time off? FUCK YOU TIME OFF - I haven't had a vacation because I don't have time to relax when I have money to make. I don't want to work for an employer, which is why I spend my nights after my wife and kid go to sleep building my businesses instead of jerking off watching porn and smoking weed like everyone else.

It's called life, and it sucks a lot of times. Deal with it you pussy.

PS: If you were my friend I wouldn't be "lenient on the rent." I'd throw you out on the fucking street for being a lazy-ass motherfucker. Pay your bills on time.

+1 rep. Was planning on giving a similar speech to my kid brother someday soon. A freeloader. (freeloader: def: "Someone who sits around and dosen't work and mooches off their family and steals all their moms hard earned money to do nothing all day and contribute shit to society. Someone who is a waste of air and takes up valuable space on the planet earth.")

@OP, dude, you need to quit your job for motivation? com'on........ What's next, living with your parents for more motivation?

The mid-20s crisis thing was more tongue-in-cheek than anything. Yes it pisses me off the way my life is going, but I don't think I have a mental problem other than laziness and fear.

You better go and fucking beg for your old job back.

Thanks for all the posts, I've been away from the forums for a few days while I sorted out some stuff (like moving out of the "lenient friend's" place). I really appreciate all the advice you guys gave me - even the people that think I'm a freeloading dick.

What happened after my last post on here is quite amusing...

1. I went and begged for my job back, and they gave it me (I'd only been gone 2 days).
2. All was good, I was earning money and was glad to have "job security" with time to spare to work on my online stuff.
3. I moved out of my friend's place and into my own.
4. I got laid off by my employer.
5. Realised I got what was coming to me and now I have to live with it.

Tough break dude.

Well I guess it's balls to the wall now, you've got that motivation whether you want it or not.

Srsly... You'd better find a fucking profitable biz model like today and start working it overtime!

Where did you wind up, out of curiosity? And what's the rent there?

Start working 15 hours a day creating niche sites and building backlinks by your own. You'll have to work on weekends too.

All this considering that you already know quite a bit about the MMO biz.

I was fired from my job as well....today I make hundreds of times more than I used to when I worked for those bastards.

Good luck bro....again, If you want to create your own income, you can, but you need to bust your ass off for a really long time, maybe a couple of years, not kidding.

Hope you're prepared for long hours, 7 days a week, and limited social life for the next several months.

In a Housing Association 1 bedroom house, rent is £69/week ($110). I have a bit of money put aside for the next couple of weeks but yea I'm gonna need to bust my ass or it's McDonald's time.

Hope you're prepared for long hours, 7 days a week, and limited social life for the next several months.
Indeed I am.
