Just as ComradeWolf has done to me, the purpose of this thread is to inspire those paid traffic newbs on here. Currently promoting dating offers from MaxBounty, Peerfly and A4D on Plenty of Fish. Since starting in mid september I've lost close to 750 bucks on about 50 or 60 campaigns and have even managed a profitable day... once.. totaling (drum roll please) 77 cents!
Day 1
Here is an example of an unsuccessful campaign I am running:
with targeting that looks like
using a "latin dating" niche offer in POF.
Starting this campaign I thought the bold colored 310x110 with the hacky scroll bar would draw clicks. 1,000 impressions across the 42 images have resulted in 0 clicks, I will let this one run for a bit longer. The scroll bar could be played out and actually detering clicks especially since it's design reminds me of Windows 98
Earlier I had tested the age ranges in a 110x80 campaign using otherwise the same demos and found that my 30-35 group was giving me the fewest clicks while the 36-41 and 42-27 groups were about equal and statistically significantly different from the 30-35 group.
I also selected images from this 11x80 campaign that had all gotten at least 1 click by about 1,200 imps
I split tested titles too in that 110x80 campaign.
"Looking For a Boyfriend?" > "Looking for a Man? > "Looking for a Boy" = "Looking For a Boy Toy?"
I was surprised that POF let me use the Boy Toy line and even more surprised that it performed at the bottom. Also I forgot the ? mark at the end of the "Boy" version which made it sound like I was the one looking for a boy haha, probably ruining ctrs.
I used all this info and threw it into the 310x110 ad shown above and no dice. Until I get a campaign with steadily good ctrs, lets say .1 over several thousand impressions, I will be direct linking so that I can focus on my CTRs
