Bottom line though is that she assaulted him first. He'd also have a charge since they separated, then he pursued.
They're both at fault. He's an asshole, she's a dumb bitch. No matter how you cut it. But that doesn't change the fact she provoked it, escalated it, and assaulted him first. and knew exactly what would happen if she wasn't a woman.

I've never been in that situation before other then a few skirmishes with my older sister, but if you want to back that up go partying or bar hoppin in a place with a high lesbian population like san fransisco or eugene. If anything jumping in on a fight that's not yours is a bitch move and in a lot of cases extremely dangerous. Everytime one of my friends gets in a fight we don't jump in, we hang out and make sure it doesn't get too out of control whether our friend wins or loses. Hell often we'll even talk and joke around with the other fighters friends during it about how the fight is going, but the moment a third person jumps in it's ass kick time. So you can walk up and sock a guy because he's fighting with someone you think he shouldn't be fighting with but be fully prepared for 5-10 of his friends to jump on you immediately and its game over. The worst ass kickings i've seen in my life have happened to people jumpin in on fights not the people fighting.

Understood and I feel the same way, that was my point. How do you know what the situation is standing across the bar? If all you see is a guy hitting a girl and you dive in like superman, that could spell serious serious trouble. None of my friends are like this but I've hung out with people who will randomly tell me they're going to go start shit with some guy or some guys girl just to get a rise out of them and ask me if I have their back if they get into a fight. There's a whole other set of rules that applies to lesbians. And within that rule set, there's a sort of sliding scale of rules, which mostly depends on where they lie on the 'lipstick lesbian / bull dyke' continuum.

Hitting the girl's boyfriend makes even less sense than leg sweeping the girl. That guy is not responsible for the girl's actions.

I have more respect for the guy who deals directly with the girl in this situation. I think the guy went way overboard in what he did but I guess you just don't have a lot of time to cycle through your options in scenarios like this.

She put herself in a bad position by trying to talk trash instead of acting like a lady. That's what these young girls don't understand these days. Part of being a lady means not acting like a bitch to others.

Blame MTV and their shows like, 'Sweet 16' that tell girls it's okay to act rude and treat others however you want. Or blame her parents. Either way, she should've just ignored him.

And the best thing he could've done is embarrass her by tossing her in the pool, or at the very most, slap her across the face. It could've ended much worse for both of them with that leg sweep.

1. Ask politely who she is with because you are concerned that she may have drank too much.
