if i continue to spam yahoo! finance message boards with my domains redirecting to affilliate links?

is this disruptive to yahoos service and/or does this give them legal grounds to prosecute me?

you will probly not get banned, but you can't think of any more creative idea to promote your crap?

If you are running some scam and a few people reports you then yes they will take legal action depending on the severity. My friend's pyramid scheme got caught by Yahoo's finance, now they are making him pay a fee of $400 or they threaten to pursue a lawsuit. Granted, it is unlikely that they actually will follow up with the lawsuit if you dont pay, but it wasnt worth the risk for him

i admit its pathetic and uncreative.

its agaisnt yahoos ToS

but its not a scam. its all legit offers.
im a newb @ this AM scene and im broke. i want to build some capital to test some ads for real.

besides, if they actually do complete the email submit, zip submit etc, then the leads are legit? so my network probably wouldnt care?

If it is against their TOS explicitly it will increase their chance of a lawsuit if you get caught since the case would proceed very quickly in their favor. I doubt it is 100% legit or you wouldnt be here asking because you do not really know if it is a scam because you are redirecting it to your affiliate's links. Read the TOS of your network, chances are if you get in legal trouble, they will have nothing to do with it since it is YOUR choice to do so as you have agreed in the TOS. Ask your network in professional manner and they will tell you. Yahoo is known for pursuing small claims against internet schemes but in the end it is up to you.

so basically, i can really only get in trouble if im promoting a scam/illegal offer of some sort? I shouldn't be worried about yahoo getting mad since im spamming their forumz...?

on another note, would getting an LLC help me in any way? as far as i know the offers are legit, at least thats what my AM told me...

that depends actually. They can file a lawsuit against you even if you are unknowingly promoted a scam/illegal offer, because you have signed the TOS, and the TOS with your network which might include your agreement to whatever it is they are doing, legal or not. LLC does not mean you are fully protected in the court of law, trust me i have known people that suffered similar events. LEGALLY, if a scam can be proved, or even if you violate yahoo's TOS, which you are, LLC cannot protect you.

There's no way Yahoo is going to sue you for spamming their message boards. If you are here asking this question, I doubt you have the technical means to spam to the level that would even get Yahoo's attention. So you shouldn't really worry about it from that perspective.

As far as what happens to your affiliate account, well it depends on the merchants who own the campaigns you are spamming about and the networks you are using. Some merchants/networks won't care at all. Some merchants/networks will simply pull you from the campaign. Some merchants will insist your leads get reversed. Some networks will boot you. There's not across-the-board answer.

Why would merchants care if you are sending legit leads? Because spamming has a negative impact on their brand. So while they make money on the lead, the damage to their brand can cost more than the profit they're making on the leads.

What's wrong with you? Don't you read the papers?

About 3 days ago there was a story released by routers that anyone who spammed yahoo message boards was getting their IP's logged and yahoo was going after them specifically. They've already got a warrant for several hundred ip addresses and they are sending them all to Alcatras prison while they await bail.

Big time bail money to - like 1k per spam message.
