Man, I must have been missing out all this time. I read the threads but never took medication for shit before unless I was sick.

Anyways, all the talk of addies and such I went to my doctor the other day for some arthritis I was feeling in my ankle and brought up my lifestyle ( can't sleep at night, can't focus, feel like OCD and ADD ish at the same time, and the stress with this lifestyle ) and I even though I did not get Adderall ( shortage and new regulations was the excuse ) I did get some Wellbutrin and have been taking it the last week and man, what a difference.

Been crushing a lot of work, been feeling very good, and finally sleeping at night with the mess of ideas runnign thru my head. I've been about 300% more productive then normal and it feels good. I mean, man I almost feel crushing all kinds of work and shit.

Just wanted to say thank to all you guys for bringing up a related topic that finally got me thinking about taking something to help me out a bit.

I had to take an adderall because I was falling behind on school work about two weeks ago. I finished a 25 page paper that I was agonizing about for a month in one evening and got a very good grade. This shit is bonkers but you get dependent on using it say goodbye to natural focus and motivation, especially if you have a steady source. One of my previous room mates was prescribed it since he was a little kid and finally wanted to come off it when he graduated. He went from a fairly productive student graduating with a high GPA from UCLA, to a complete couch potato stoner who hasn't been able to get a job & needs money from his parents to pay rent. Can't say adderall is completely to blame but I really feel it played a large role in how he ended up.

Probably the most accurate video of what adderall does to you:

I didn't even know what it was until checking it out on Wikipedia. They say it's an amphetamine, so that immediately made me smile. Back in the days of being 18 and into pills and clubs, I got offered some Speed instead of Ecstasy and said, why not!

From then on Speed and Bass were my favourite drugs on the planet and I only took pills when I couldn't get some speed. It was like beer goggles for life. Everyone was ace and everything was fucking brillianr. The only bad shit was the come-down the next day and the fact your dick always seemed small and shrivelled after.

Using Adderall to be successful in business is like using Viagra to break into the porn industry.

EDIT - it would be genuinely interesting to conduct a longitudinal study on how people get on with adderall to help their business over the long term. There are probably enough users on this board to constitute a decent cohort.

I'm going to try using both. Will post a case study on it.

I dont think it has anything to do with being successful in business.

If your not able to perform ( in your observation with adderall and viagra ) is it better to not take anything and continue to have an issue, or use something to help you with your issue? Personally, if I can take something to help me sleep at night ( which was a huge issue for me ) as well as give me focus during the day and help me unstress, then Im all for it regardless of what its name is ( alcohol, legal pills, BJs, get my drift.. etc )

I remember a doctor comparing it to having glasses... if you had an eyesight problem that could be helped with glasses, wouldn't you wear them or would you suffer with eye sight problems the rest of you life?

Yea, I have been taking Addies on and off since high school and they definitely do the trick especially when you need some extra horse power. My brother used to take Wellbutrin but it never did much for me.

As long as you realize what you're doing and get off that shit as soon as you can, you might be ok.

Problem is, some people never get over the initial buzz and become evangelical pill addicts.

^^ oh for sure.. I understand that part of it.

I dont want to be on this more then a month honestly but if once I go off I have sleep issues again I will need to do something.

Have you tried melatonin for sleep? It's natural and aside from some vivid dreams, has few negative side effects. I've suffered from insomnia due to a racing mind for most of my life, and the $4 bottles of melatonin I get help me significantly.

yeah I was taking 2-3 of those a night and that helped a lot honestly. However, I still had the stress and focus issues. I also had gotten anti-social as well.

When I got the new stuff, I didn't have to take the melatonin though any more as I go right to sleep and wake up refreshed even if less then 8 hours.

I use melatonin almost every night (the nights that I'm not too drunk that I forget to take it), and let me corroborate about the whole vivid dreams part. You'll have the most vivid, intense, and rememberable dreams ever. For example, the last dream I had was going to ASW and partying too much, forgetting to meet up with the people I was planning to meet with, waking up with a sense of dread and disappointment, disgust in myself. Then I was like, Jesus, another vivid ass dream.

^^ I had quite a few of those, though not every night.

Use the pills as a leg up. Start jogging or fucking more or whatever you need to do.

Doctors are not your friends, half of them are addicts themselves and the other half think that they're Mother Teresa/Albert Einstein just because they've survived medical school.
