Advertising the Inexpensive Way
written by: Robert DeVore

Anyone who runs their own business will tell you, advertising can be very costly at times. This has been true for the most part, until now. Advertising can now be organized for little cost. If you run your own business and do not have backup investors to fund all of your projects, advertising can be a huge hassle, but with the right techniques, you can advertise for very small costs.

The first way to advertise in an inexpensive way is by word of mouth. This is a free way to get your company out in the public. Tell everyone you know about your company and have them tell their friends, family, ECT. If you create a good relationship with your clients, and they appreciate your company, this will be another way word of mouth advertising can work for you. There is nothing better than having a client tell their friends about your company, because your client is putting their “stamp of approval” on your company, and their friends will listen.

You can also advertise in an inexpensive way through trading advertisements with another business in your field. For example, you run a design company, and you know of a hosting company just starting out, you and the hosting company come to the agreement to exchange links on your websites, and also pass out their flyers in the packets you send your potential clients in exchange for them doing the same. You now have your design company promoted throughout all of the hosting company’s places, and without spending a dime. You have to be careful with this method though because you need to exchange advertisements with companies that are in your field. If you advertised your design company with a restaurant it would not be as effective as the hosting company, as people who need a hosting company also need designs for their websites.

A really high-quality way of advertising your website online at no cost at all is to submit articles to free article websites. Now, if you are running on a spare resource of content for your website, and cannot afford to write a 500-1000 word article, then do not try this method, but if you can write up 1-5 articles and submit them to the over 50 article websites running right now, then you are on your way to amazing results. Advertising through articles like this is simple; you submit your article to the website along with an “about the author” box which you should put your website, and a contact email address if you like, then once the article is placed on their website, thousands of webmasters will see these articles and potentially use the articles for their own website content, keeping your “about the author” content at the bottom of the article. This method can bring literally thousands of links to your website within a very short amount of time, and it cost you nothing but a few spare minutes of your time to write the articles.

Advertising can be very costly, unless you find ways around the price tags that come along with most campaigns. Remember, just because the bigger companies are working their advertisements in ways where you feel inferior, don’t be discouraged, because even the smallest companies can build a great client base on low cost advertisements.

I know for a lot of us, this is very slap in the face easy to know, but for some newer site owners/advertisers, this is some info they can use to build on.

Thanks, Righthand. If you guys have any suggestions re how we can upgrade the software for the duplicate content checker, let me know. We were thinking of using a Google-like text parser for repetition patterns. Being placed in that "supplemental results" section is the kiss of death :ugone2far:
